We finally tried Castro’s for the first time! The backyard literally transported us to another place. It was actually pretty quiet, and couldn’t really hear the street noise. The atmosphere of the backyard felt authentic and welcoming. Our servers were phenomenal, and the food was pretty good, two for one margaritas didn’t hurt either - which, by the way, were excellent. The margs were not overly sweet (if at all), they are the real deal. Also, the chorizo tacos were the best. I’d go for those over the other taco options.

Everything screams Mexico in this restaurant! The music, decorations, tones of food options and the waitress were all so nice and welcoming ❤️ The food was so good and felt authentic, we had enchiladas with vegetables- it was amazing and good for 2 people. The are shell taco was also really good and crispy, I took the vegetarian option.Do not miss the corn will all topping- I took two bites and left it to end of the meal because it was so good.

I love this place and servers are nice but four times in a row I’m getting water down drinks. After the third time, I mentioned that my drink tasted like juice and they keep saying I have to mix it. After the fourth time I decided, I just won’t go there anymore. I just paid $18 with 20% tip for a drink to go that tastes like juice. It’s either they don’t use quality liquor and wine or just put a splash of it. Very disappointed cause I thought it would be my spot.

We had appetizers and cocktails which included Tostones w/ garlic sauce and a side of Guacamole. I also ordered the spicy Pork Empanada and my friend had the Fish Taco. The cocktails ( Corona and Mango Margarita) hit the spot! This family owned restaurant has been servicing the Clinton Hill community for decades. Run, don't walk if you like some delightful Mexican food!

The food was ok. I was expecting the mole to be a little more flavorful. Considering the price, seems there are better options.
