Chun Hong Kong Cafe Introduce
For New Yorkers seeking a culinary adventure that bridges the gap between East and West, **Chun Hong Kong Cafe** offers an authentic taste of the vibrant Hong Kong-style diner experience, known locally as a Cha Chaan Teng. Located in the heart of Brooklyn’s Bensonhurst neighborhood, this Chinese restaurant provides an extensive and eclectic menu, making it a beloved spot for all-day dining.
A Cha Chaan Teng is fundamentally a quick, casual, and affordable eatery that evolved in Hong Kong to cater to local tastes by blending traditional Cantonese flavors with Western elements. Chun Hong Kong Cafe fully embodies this spirit, offering a tremendous range of comfort food, from traditional rice plates and noodle soups to unique fusion items like Baked Pork Chop with Cheese and the classic HK Style Waffle.
The cafe is not just a dinner spot; it is popular for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, catering to the solo diner as well as groups. This versatility makes it an indispensable neighborhood fixture, much like an American diner but with a distinct, flavorful Hong Kong twist. The atmosphere is described as casual and cozy, offering a welcoming break from the hectic New York pace. Notably, one customer review highlights the "immaculate" decor, noting that it truly gives the place a "Hong Kong vibe," which is a high compliment for authenticity.
Signature items that showcase the Cha Chaan Teng experience include the highly popular breakfast combos, which feature classic pairings like Macaroni Soup with Ham & Fried Egg, and the famous Satay Beef Rice Vermicelli Soup. Beyond breakfast, the menu is a sprawling exploration of HK favorites, from a large selection of fried rice and noodles to the must-try baked rice and spaghetti dishes, offering satisfying, hearty meals at reasonable prices.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We been here 2 times. The foods here are fine and the location is perfect but the server is really upsetting us. The attitude on his face I cannot describe, he seems not happy with his role. The second time he did not serve us water hence no tips. Good luck.
August 08 · Rex RebThe other reviews on here that gave it 3 stars or less are pretty harsh reviewers. It’s really not as bad as they say! The atmosphere/decor is immaculate, giving it such a Hong Kong vibe. Makes me feel like I’m actually there! Servers/waiters were super nice. The food was very flavorful, not expensive as others would say and overall very good. The waiter was nice enough to give us the breakfast combo even though it was past the time it said for the combo. The HK style milk tea and the lemon tea were very good! I would def come back again no doubt. Especially the fact that it’s also in Brooklyn is a plus
April 07 · Ben HuaI would give 3.5 stars. We enjoy the food and definitely will go back to try some more. My teen said the pineapple bun with egg & chicken filet is good, especially if you eat it fresh & hot. The Ovaltine style french toast is a nice try if you are tired of the original version. Curry fish ball is average, it’s not spicy. Satay beef noodle is good. Curry chicken filet with spaghetti is soso, I find that most of their curry dishes are not that spicy and it’s lacking the HK curry flavor. White sauce is better than curry sauce. The sizzling dish of mixed pork chop & chicken filet and sausage is average. 紅豆冰 Red Bean drink is soso coz the red bean is not good enough, you can only taste the red bean skin, not the whole bean. but overall the food is okay enough to make us wanna come back again
August 31 · Isabella LuiTop notch spot, get their noodles, fried anything, iced mixed tea n coffee.Avoid their gimmicky chicken stuffed wings, not worth. Trust, everything else is good and affordable.Much better than HK tea and sushi, and Kowloon.
August 17 · Kevin kFood: 5 good hk style dishes. Interested twist to how their chicken was flavored, also very tender. Portions were SMALL compared to other HK Cafes. Fries were yum fried Korean style.Atmosphere: 4 for being original, more hk style theme and color decor. Service was alright in the beginning. Nothing compared to Legend Cafe service. Ultimately it was the waiters response when we asked if there was a difference between credit card vs cash. He sounded agitated and poked at the receipt. Meaning we should have read, before asking such a rhetorical question. Nah man we asked as you were handing us the receipt. But we will return bc food was hit the spot!!!
