What is Worth Choosing
Cross Road Brooklyn is particularly worth choosing for a few key reasons, especially for those in the New York area seeking a fresh, flavorful, and modern Caribbean dining experience.
First and foremost, the culinary fusion is a major draw. Unlike traditional Caribbean eateries, Cross Road Brooklyn innovatively blends flavors from the Caribbean with American and Latin influences. This results in standout, highly-rated dishes such as the Island Shrimp—juicy, crispy, and tossed in a luscious honey chili and orange glaze—and the savory Birria Empanadas, which feature braised short rib. The Grilled Salmon, glazed with a spicy sriracha and sweet honey blend, and the BBQ Jerk Chicken, served on coconut rice and peas with habanero slaw, are also featured and highly recommended items that showcase the kitchen's skill. The Caribbean Jerk Pork is another dish that has received perfect ratings from customers for its distinctive flavor and tenderness.
Secondly, the vibrant ambiance and service create an all-around excellent outing. The atmosphere is described as an "amazing... true jewel" of a restaurant, balancing an upscale feel with a cozy, casual, and trendy environment. It’s perfect for various occasions, from a romantic date night to a fun dinner with a family or group. The dedicated, professional staff and fast service ensure that your visit is smooth and enjoyable.
Finally, you must consider the exceptional cocktail menu and specials. The bar offers a true "liquid adventure" with handcrafted cocktails and a popular happy hour running Tuesday through Friday. If you enjoy a skillfully made rum drink or a refreshing Lychee Martini, the bar here is a destination in itself. Furthermore, unique offerings like Taco Tuesday (featuring Jerk Chicken Tacos) and the highly-regarded Soca Brunch prix fixe option, which includes a cocktail, appetizer, entrée, and dessert for a great value, provide exciting reasons to plan your visit.
While some patrons have noted that certain dishes labeled 'jerk' lean towards a more generally Caribbean-flavored profile rather than the intensely spicy, traditional Jamaican jerk seasoning, the overall quality, presentation, and taste of the food are consistently rated as amazing and delicious. For a taste of the islands creatively interpreted for a modern Brooklyn palate, Cross Road Brooklyn is an experience that will truly make your taste buds happy.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is an amazing Carribian Restaurant, a true jewel. Food was amazing. Some spicy dishes can be requested for milder spice (less spice) option. Waiter provided amazing and fast service. Very professional and provided alot of useful information on beverage options, too.I' ll recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends for lunch and dinner.A must to experience. Your taste buds will love you.
May 28 · Larisa AyGreat ambiance, perfect for a nice dinner for a date or with family. Nice music playing in the background, friendly staff, large bar area to sit. Food was nicely presented and cooked well. Only feedback would be that dishes that were called 'jerk' didn't taste like jerk at all. There was no jerk seasoning in the jerk wings or jerk pork main entree. I would rename these as Caribbean fried wings or Caribbean baked pork.
April 20 · Amanda DMy husband and I went to the bar summer 2024. Nice chill vibes.I took my kids for dinner Friday , March 4, 2025. Start to finish we are very happy with everything. The food was super fresh and hot.Everything on the menu was AAAAAHmazing.2 make waiters were now.Casual dinner, place to go. Brunch is a great space!
April 06 · Kimona SeivewrightI ordered a lychee martini and noticed black particles floating in it, clearly not normal. I politely brought it to the waitress’s attention and she acknowledged the issue and took it to the bartender. What followed was incredibly unprofessional.Instead of quietly addressing it, the bartender loudly proclaimed that "lychee normally has stuff that comes out of it"… clearly trying to make a point within earshot. It felt like a deliberate attempt to dismiss my concern. I turned around and told them not to bother making a new one and I don’t want it anymore, since it’s such a hassle to serve a clean drink. To my surprise, the same drink was brought back, just with the floating stuff removed. I didn’t touch it. Later, the waitress asked if I still wanted the drink, and I reminded her that I already said no, especially after the bartender’s rude behavior. For the record, I’ve had lychee martinis at plenty of places, from upscale spots to casual lounges. I know what the fruit looks like. The bartender’s condescending comment that “that’s how they are, they have a brown thing coming out the middle” felt like an insult to my intelligence, not a genuine explanation.Aside from the service, the salmon was okay, and the coconut brûlée was decent didn’t get any flavor of coconut. The presentation was nice but honestly, if you have other options, take them. I wouldn’t return — not because of the food, but because hospitality is just as important, and this place clearly missed the mark.
