## Introduction / Overview: A True Coffee Destination
In the vibrant and dynamic landscape of New York City's coffee scene, few places stand out with the unique character and commitment to quality as **Devoción**. This isn't just another cafe; it's a destination for true coffee enthusiasts, a place where the journey from bean to cup is a central, celebrated part of the experience. This meticulous process is what gives their coffee its distinctive, clean taste, free from the gimmicky, sugary drinks often found elsewhere. It's a place for purists and those who appreciate the true, unadulterated flavor of expertly crafted coffee.
Beyond the exceptional coffee, Devoción is also celebrated for its stunning interior. Patrons frequently highlight the breathtaking glass ceiling and lush green wall, which create a light-filled, nature-infused environment that feels both expansive and intimate. It’s a beautifully designed space that complements the quality of the beverages and food, making every visit a special experience. From its great coffee and tea selection to its delicious pastries and welcoming staff, Devoción is a standout establishment that has earned its reputation as a beloved spot among locals and tourists alike.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A gem! You’ll love this place if you’re into coffee. No gimmicky sugary drinks — just straight great coffee. The place is stunning with a glass ceiling and green wall. The pastries were incredible as well — a rarety at cafes. The staff were very nice as well and offered me a small amount of drip to try!
June 30 · Salman AhmadDefinitely great place to relax, remotely work and have a coffee. I love how the place is set up but it can be very hot if you sit under the glass roof.We had a chance to try their seasonal menu this summer: cold brew cola. I thought that it has weird flavor at first but turned out to like it at the end. It isn’t like your familiar cola but a spiced cold brew.
August 18 · Mind ThamaratanasiriThis was our first time visiting Devoción, and while the space itself is trendy and modern, the experience left us with a bad impression. For context, when I try a place for the first time, I usually don’t tip upfront so I can keep the experience as unbiased as possible. When we walked in, the staff didn’t greet us with a smile or even a simple “welcome.” We ordered two lattes and one aromatic iced tea. The total came to $19.87, and I paid $20 in cash, telling them to keep the change. As I walked away, I overheard the woman at the counter mocking the “no change” part to her coworker in a snarky tone. Since we were celebrating my mom’s birthday, that moment really soured the visit. It also left us uneasy about the tea, since it was made after that interaction. On the positive side, the drinks themselves looked good — the lattes had nice designs and the tea presentation matched the $5.25 price. The service was quick, and they let us know the tea would take a few minutes, which was fine. But the way we were treated overshadowed everything else.Because of that, I wouldn’t come back or recommend this place. The drinks alone don’t make up for being treated poorly.
September 02 · Ruslan K.I love this cafe! Not only are the baristas super kind and knowledgeable but their hospitality is unmatched. They are skilled and friendly and quickly make your order despite super long lines. The lines move quickly. Something interesting I found out is that they roast their beans in house and it’s surrounded by glass so you can see the big roasting machine and all the beans. The only downside is there’s only 1 bathroom and the wait to go in is much longer than the wait to order.Other downside is since this place is so popular and busy (not really crowded, just busy) there are not enough seats. I think this is an easy fix as there is plenty of space. But it may also be a good way to keep the place feeling open and enjoyable to not have too many seats. But I think if they add more barstools to the bar seating area maybe it could help. There’s a big couch section in the center, then a half booth against the greenery wall, then maybe 5/6 small tables with 2-4 chairs per table. Some tables have umbrellas especially on sunny days.I love this cafe because it feels like a portal out of the hustle and bustle city vibe into a little escape. The temperature is nice, not too hot or cold despite outdoor weather. And the aesthetic is comfortable. The concrete brutalist factory style contrasting with the bright yellow accents and the lively greenery and big bright skylight make it a peaceful yet grounding space.I think this location is worth a visit but don’t expect to be able to sit or use the bathroom within a reasonable time frame. You’ll most likely have to wait around 15-20 minutes minimum for each. 30-40 on a high traffic day.One other thing to note is a lot of people come here to work on their laptops so they don’t move for a while which is why there’s not a lot of seats being rotated faster. I’ve seen regulars that are there every time I go and they get there before me and leave long after me even if I’ve been there a while. All in all, the cafe and products are a 10/10Love the quality of the workers and food and drinksLove the atmosphere and aesthetics
September 03 · JadeGreat design, excellent coffee, staff a bit intense, could be kinder when asked a simple question about a glass of water on a first visit. Everyone on laptops, wifi provided with receipt. A little strange if you just stop for a quick coffee.
