Dookki Introduce
For those craving the authentic, comforting flavors of tteokbokki, Dookki is a must-visit destination located in the vibrant heart of New York City's Koreatown. This restaurant specializes in one of Korea's most beloved street food dishes: spicy and savory rice cakes. Unlike many other Korean eateries that offer a wide array of dishes, Dookki has honed its craft, focusing on perfecting the art of tteokbokki. It’s a place where you can find a variety of signature preparations, from the classic to more innovative and modern takes, all designed to satisfy your craving for this deliciously chewy dish. The ambiance is casual and straightforward, putting the focus squarely on the food itself, which is what truly matters to a serious tteokbokki enthusiast.
Dookki is not just a place to eat; it's a celebration of a Korean culinary tradition. The restaurant's name, "Dookki," means "two meals" in Korean, hinting at a unique dining concept often found in their locations in Asia, where you enjoy tteokbokki first, and then use the leftover sauce to make a second dish, like kimchi fried rice. While the New York location's menu focuses on a la carte options, it maintains the spirit of a dedicated tteokbokki experience. The focus on freshness is evident, as the staff prepares each dish on the spot, ensuring that every serving of rice cake is soft, chewy, and perfectly coated in sauce. This commitment to quality and a specialized menu has made Dookki a standout spot in K-Town, attracting a loyal following of those who appreciate a genuine taste of Korea.

---### What is worth choosing
Choosing Dookki is about embracing a truly specialized and authentic Korean street food experience in the heart of New York City. The primary reason to visit is the quality and variety of its signature dish. Unlike places that serve tteokbokki as a side item, Dookki makes it the star of the show. The ability to choose from a range of flavors—from the spicy kick of the Classic to the creamy sweetness of the Rosé—ensures that every visit can be a new and exciting experience. The freshness is a key selling point; the fact that you can see the staff cooking your food on the spot gives you confidence in the quality and taste. The rice cakes are praised for their perfect soft and chewy texture, and the sauces, while perhaps a little on the sweeter side for some, are undeniably delicious and well-balanced. This is especially true for those who might not tolerate high levels of spice but still want to enjoy the flavor.
Furthermore, the portion sizes are a significant value proposition. For a very reasonable price, you get a substantial meal that is more than enough to fill you up. This makes Dookki a perfect choice for students, casual diners, or anyone looking for a satisfying and affordable lunch or dinner. The convenience of its location in K-Town, combined with its fast service, makes it an ideal quick stop during a busy day of exploring or shopping. While it might not be a spot for a long, leisurely meal, it excels at what it promises: a fast, delicious, and authentic tteokbokki experience. For a true taste of one of Korea's most famous comfort foods, prepared with care and served in a straightforward, no-fuss environment, Dookki is a fantastic and worthy choice for any New Yorker.

tteokbokkirice cakes
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love the Korean rice cakes so much, and Dookki is one of the best Tteobboki in Korea town. You can choose classic ones or customize yourselves. Delicious and I recommend!
August 16 · wen wenI’ve had my fair share of tteokbokki. I am saddened that the downstairs one in food gallery is no longer available, but I wanted to give this one a shot. I got their classic tteokbokki which was actually good.I did wish it was a bit more thicker in sauce and the rice cake had more time to marinate in the sauce itself. However, they make it on the spot and you can see the staff cook it. Rice cakes were soft and chewy. I loved the additional add ons. The sauce itself isn’t spicy, perhaps a bit more sweeter. I personally believed that it was not quite a genuine classic tteokbokki, it lacked spice and the balance may have been slightly off. Reminded me more of a “Rose Tteokbokki”, but It was delicious nonetheless. They give you a good portion and could easily fill you up.I’m sure this sauce would be preferred by the majority of people who are unable to tolerate spice.
July 17 · MelodyThe portion is very small for what you pay for. $15 for tiny amount of rice cakes. It tastes good but definitely not worth the price. The container is not even half full.
August 23 · Maftuna MOrdered the Rose Tteokbokki. First time having Cheese Wheat tteok (like cheesy gnocchi) and Flat Tteok. I love how the ingredients feel balanced. Not too much of anything, and just enough of everything. And the flavor is so good. Perfect addition to the Ktown Food Court. Was having the worst day at the office and this dish was so healing.
August 04 · Jason LeeFoods good I wish portions were a little better compared to level 1 stores.
