★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Delicious pizza and a range of other menu items available. We tried the Mediterranean summer vegetable pizza and the sunflower pesto pizza. Both were good, the pesto pizza was my favorite. Staff is nice. Depending on hunger, might be able to split one pizza for two people. Leftovers are yummy.
September 08 · Carla DazaOk actually quite good vegan mushroom pizza. That’s why they get 5 stars. Margarita would be 5/5 if it had a bit more of that cashew cream cheese…Drinks were lovely. HUGE basil lemonade. Fab Arnold Palmer. Great.Tacos were whatever ngl. Get the pizza!!This restaurant is part of bar verde, the Mexican vegan restaurant, too. It’s a bit confusing. They are super allergen friendly. Nut free, GF, even soy free! They have tons of outdoor and indoor seating. Did not need a Rez for a Saturday @noon.
September 13 · Isabella GrandicBest vegan pizza in NYC. I could have sworn I reviewed Double Zero before and now I’m wondering if the review disappeared because it was for their old location. They moved (on the same block I think?) into a place that looks a little tighter inside but had an outdoor seating.Came with a party of 3 and sat inside for a quiet Saturday night dinner—interior seating was maybe half full and exterior seating was packed.Warning interior didn’t have AC running.Got two pizzas and jackfruit tacosJackfruit tacos: Good but lacked a sauce or spice that left it getting drowned out by the much more flavorful pizzasTruffle cashew cream pizza: Excellent. Third time getting it and every time it’s been a hit. Flavorful spread of mushrooms on cashew cheeseSpicy Pepperoni Pizza: Pepperonis themselves quite good on a tomato, basil, cheese base. Note the pepperonis have coconut in them in case you’re allergic. Also got two cocktails and a mocktail, but nothing to report there. My Moscow mule was largely ice.Unfortunately, the owner is apparently a terrible person according to the April 22, 2024 NYTimes article, but the food is good especially for vegans.
August 17 · Shawn CHad always wanted to go to the Double Zero in Venice, CA, so I was excited to finally try the location in NYC!First off, I found the location to be a bit confusing. There’s two restaurants operating in the same space, so I nearly walked out thinking I was in the wrong place. Now onto the food and experience! I tried the mushroom pizza and cacio e pepe (see pic of pasta in my review). The pasta was really good. Creamy, lots of flavor, and great texture. It’s not the same as cacio e pepe in Rome, but nonetheless enjoyable. The pizza tasted good but violated the #1 holy rule of pizza making: limp crust. I couldn’t pick up the slice without it sagging. Whomp, whomp. You also have to be a big fan of truffle oil, it’s used pretty liberally on this dish. The service was great, though. Nice servers, very eager to refill a glass or clear the table, and the food came out fairly quick. Done and dusted. Love it.Note to kitchen: try to add some umami or fermented notes in the cacio e pepe to mimic cheese. A lot of places have a killer vegan cream sauce, but none have captured the special-ness (yes, I know that’s not a real word!) of cacio e pepe. There’s a lot of decent vegan cheeses out…it may yield a better result! If you crack the code I’ll gladly come back to try it!! 😊
July 28 · Justin McClellandThe pepperoni pizza was delicious even the next day after being reheated. However it is a bit pricey. Almost $30 for 6 schmedium slices. I savored it and ate 3 slices for dinner and the rest for lunch the next day. However I could have devoured all 6 slices in one sitting. If you're willing to splurge check them out.
