Choosing a pizza spot in New York often comes down to personal preference and what you value most in a dining experience. For the Bronx resident, DQ Pizza on Webster Avenue is worth considering primarily for its **unbeatable affordability, established presence, and traditional menu**.
In a city where dining costs can quickly escalate, DQ Pizza's commitment to offering low-cost staples is a major draw. A classic **Cheese Pizza for $8.50** or a **Grinder for $5.00** represents a significant value proposition that caters to budget-conscious families, students, and local workers looking for a straightforward, inexpensive meal. For those seeking the simple, nostalgic taste of classic, old-school New York-style pizza and Italian-American fare, the traditional menu offers familiar favorites without the modern fuss.
However, it is vital for new customers to manage expectations regarding the atmosphere and service, as indicated by recent customer feedback. The reviews suggest a more "old school" approach to customer service, which can be interpreted differently by patrons—some may see it as spunk and authenticity, while others may perceive it as less modern hospitality. Despite these comments, the establishment has maintained its presence in a competitive market, suggesting that it fulfills a continuous demand for its core product. The presence of a **Cauliflower Crust Pizza** and acceptance of **NFC mobile payments** shows an effort to modernize alongside a traditional core business model. For New Yorkers prioritizing deep local history and accessible comfort food over a polished dining experience, DQ Pizza remains a genuine local choice.
If you are in the 10458 area, in need of a quick, cheap slice, or a hearty, uncomplicated pasta or hero, DQ Pizza offers a traditional neighborhood pizza experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Why would anyone eat pizza here when pizza squad is across the street. I tried it because I wanted real pizza and pizza squad was closed. It was horrible.. the place is ran by an older couple who seem suspicious of everyone that comes in. The place looks run down. The pizza has no cheese and barley any toppings.. forget Parmigian cheese.... there is none... this place is not worth the visit
September 08 · Byron Orellana Jr.Updated Edit as of April 2025: So this old woman that runs this place is just horrible. She has a sign in the front of the pizza shop that says "$2 Slice Only" but when you go inside she will tell you that it's $2 for a small slice and $3 for a big slice which she doesn't state in her sign in the front and she cuts the slice in front of you really small which is a big disappointment. The reason she is doing this is because they opened a new pizza shop right around the corner that sells their slices for $1.50 and it looks like they are giving her competition with this and that's why she decided to sell $2 little slices. If this old woman thinks she's going to win the pizza war, then she is sadly mistaken. Every time I pass through the $1.50 spot, it is always packed with people and that's telling you something right there. I suggest she changes a thing or two if she wants to bring back customers so for right now, it gets 2 stars
April 23 · Mastermind777The pizza was cold and they charged 4 dollars for a pizza and the. Pizza was 2 dollars
