★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Good, but not great. Fay da has quite a bit to offer in variety but the quality is not quite what I remember in the past. I purchased a few taro buns and they were each very poorly filled, and I felt I was mostly just eating plain bread. They do have taro mochi which is good but also not particularly well filled. While prices are cheap, there's better value at other bakeries in the neighborhood. The inside of the bakery has a few tables where you can sit, which is really nice.
April 19 · Jessica YangThe perfect spot for animal cakes! They’re always a hit with friends. Just ask for their zodiac sign and surprise them with the cake🎂it’s a memory they’ll cherish forever….
August 30 · Ji ParkFada Bakary on Mott Street is a beloved neighborhood café that has been serving the local community for years. It specializes in Hong Kong-style pastries and a daily variety of buns with different fillings. The bakery also offers traditional Hong Kong-style milk tea, staying true to authentic flavors. The space is clean, and the staff are patient and friendly. Although the bakery is usually busy, the staff work efficiently. When I visited, I had a hard time choosing because of the wide selection, but the cashier and staff were incredibly patient, answering all my questions with care.
March 03 · Vivian LinMango mochi had decent mango flavor and was affordable. However, it was too soft and lacked the satisfying chew you expect from mochi. I also wasn’t a fan of the coconut flakes on the outside.
June 09 · Christina HuynhFay Da Bakery was a great stop for bubble tea. The hot bubble tea was only $5, the cheapest we found in Chinatown, and the quality was excellent. The bakery had a lively and bustling atmosphere, with a self-serve setup where you grab what you want and pay at the counter. The staff were friendly despite how busy it was.One thing to note is that there’s a $10 minimum for card payments, so it’s best to bring cash if you’re just getting drinks.Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely go back.
