★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had the tasting menu here for our anniversary dinner. It was an excellent choice. We started with a drink at the bar. The bartender was pleasant and made us some excellent cocktails to get started. There is an Asian overtone that runs through the meal (the coddled egg, the tuna and the beef all have Asian influences). Having lived in Japan at one time, we like that a lot. Everything was delicious, but I would say the highlights for us were the beet salad and the Wagyu beef. The salad was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavors. The beef, served with pistachio broccoli, which was also excellent, was done perfectly. We asked for rare and were glad we did with such delicious meat. The sauce with it is also delicious but the meat itself is the star. You’ll just need to try it!The Strawberry shortcake, and this is from someone that doesn’t usually even eat dessert, was outstanding! They also gave us an extra lemon meringue-like dish for our anniversary. The dining room is constantly busy with staff, but they never made us feel like they were hovering over us. They were always very pleasant and friendly and took the time to explain and answer our questions.A pricey meal yes, but worth the price if that’s what you want. It is very fine dining in midtown Manhattan after all.
September 10 · Al BunshaftI really enjoyed the cocktails here and would definitely return for drinks. However, the host staff were surprisingly unaccommodating. We were seated much later than our reservation, and they prioritized other newly arrived parties before us, even though we checked on our table three times while at the bar.The highlight of the dinner was definitely the amuse-bouche. While the fluke sashimi and kampachi were good, they didn’t blow me away. The roasted chicken was decent, but the flavorful skin was the only standout part. The crab tagliatelle was overwhelmed by dill, making it hard to appreciate other flavors; it felt very unbalanced. The strawberry shortcake and banana custard were delicious, but not quite enough to justify the price of the meal. On a positive note, they suggested a fantastic bottle of wine. Overall, I would return for the drinks but would skip the meal next time.
August 15 · Janina QuilacioThis restaurant is positioned as fine dining, with excellent quality and creativity in the food, along with attentive and thoughtful service. It’s a great choice for business dinners or gatherings with friends. The only drawback is that some of the tables are placed quite close together, making it easy to overhear conversations from neighboring tables. Because of this, it might not be the best option for private chats or dates.
September 14 · D GuoThis wasn’t our first time dining at this beautiful restaurant, and it definitely won’t be our last. It’s become one of our favorite spots for a post-show dinner in the city, and it never disappoints. We love the caviar dishes, and the steak is truly one of the best we’ve had anywhere (and we’re very picky when it comes to steak!). I also have to mention the strawberry dessert — it’s light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. The ambience is another reason we keep coming back — warm, sophisticated, and perfect for a relaxing, memorable evening.
August 06 · LifeWithoutLanaFour Twenty Five by Jean-Georges was an exceptional experience—easily a 10/10. The atmosphere is sophisticated and sexy, with a stylish after-work crowd and diners from all over. The upstairs dining room gives major The Grill vibes in the best way.Service was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. We went during Restaurant Week and I couldn’t recommend it more. The fluke sashimi starter was light and flavorful, and the Hake (recommended by our server) was perfectly cooked with a delicious green sauce. The jerk-spiced black angus chuck was also a standout—bold and rich. For dessert, the cookie flight was the perfect sweet ending, with enough to take home.
