March 11 · Allison SheriffI'm leaving the review I wish I saw before going here. Overall very cool place and vibe, you walk to the back room where the bar is on the side and then a dance floor all in the same room. It's very red and dark inside and the music is not too loud. There are plenty of places to sit. The drinks are reasonably priced at $13, although they are small. Everyone in the crowd was kind of standing still and not very dance-y, but I'm sure that varies from night to night. The bathroom situation is not great when I went. One was out of order and that only left one functioning and a 30 minute wait. Overall, this place has a lot of potential and is definitely worth visiting at least once to see if you like it.P.S. there is no pool table in the club (it's covered up which I think is a good thing)
January 21 · Maddy BoudreauWe’ve been dealing with a consistent issue from this bar. They regularly blast loud, intense music in the middle of the night on weeknights, disturbing the neighborhood. It's especially frustrating when no one is even inside the bar. The buildings in this area are not well insulated against noise, making the disruption even more unbearable and creating unnecessary stress for local residents. This is against NYC noise code and illegal, but the bar refuses to comply. We strongly urge the management to be more considerate of their neighbors and reduce the noise levels, particularly during late hours when the bar is empty.
January 17 · Julia LeyrerAbsolutely great spot. Hell phone has been around for years as a on and off speak easy, hosting some incredible private events. It is a staple to the people living around Morgan ave and now with the addition of a pool table and game nights on Wednesdays. it has been made even more accessible. Definitely urge everyone to check it out. Even if you don't like pool the cocktails are fire and the vibe is that of a French noir speak easy!
February 26 · Russ GI held a last minute birthday party/going away party here and it was a great experience. The space itself is very cool, fun, and has that speakeasy vibe to it since you have to walk through a telephone booth to get to the main bar area. Our bartender, Kareem was friendly and my guests had great things to say about him and the excellent service he provided. Finally, working with Vanessa could not have been easier. She was accommodating, quick to respond, and made last minute planning stress-free. I'm sad that I've stumbled upon this place weeks before I leave New York, but when I'm back in town, I'll definitely be coming back here!
