Indian King Biryani House Introduce
Indian King Biryani House is a well-known food cart in the Financial District of New York City, offering a diverse menu that brings a fusion of Indian and Middle Eastern flavors to the streets. While it may not be a traditional sit-down restaurant, it is a go-to spot for many in the neighborhood looking for a quick, hearty, and flavorful meal. The cart's specialty, as its name suggests, is biryani, but it also boasts a wide variety of other offerings that have earned it a loyal following. It's a place where you can find everything from classic chicken over rice to more unique dishes, all served with the speed and convenience that is quintessential to New York street food.
The experience at a food cart is all about the food itself, and Indian King Biryani House has a reputation for being a "fantastic" choice. As one customer noted, they were impressed by the "very wide variety of foods" and found their chicken over pulau rice, veggie samosas, and a chicken gyro to be "great." This wide range of options is a major draw, catering to different tastes and cravings. The cart also offers a unique twist with its menu, including items you might not find at other halal carts, such as Kati rolls and Chinese food. This blend of cuisines makes it a standout choice for those looking to expand their street food horizons.
Despite some mixed reviews regarding specific items, the overall consensus is that the cart provides a solid and flavorful meal. Some customers have found certain dishes to be inconsistent, but others praise the generous portions and the authentic flavors. The cart's ability to attract a crowd of college students, groups, and tourists speaks to its broad appeal and its role as a key player in the city's vibrant street food scene.
Indian King Biryani House is located at 140 Broadway, New York, NY 10005, USA. It's a food cart, not a brick-and-mortar restaurant, which is a key part of its identity. Its address on Broadway places it in the bustling heart of the Financial District, making it a highly convenient stop for a quick lunch or dinner. The cart is positioned in a central and well-connected area, easily accessible to professionals on their lunch break and tourists exploring nearby landmarks like the Red Cube.
Accessibility is one of the cart's main advantages. Being a street-side establishment, it is easily accessible to all. Parking, while available as "free street parking" and "paid street parking" in the vicinity, can be challenging in this busy part of the city. The best way to approach is by foot, which is how most New Yorkers and visitors navigate the Financial District. This also means the cart can serve a wider audience, as it’s a quick stop for anyone passing by. The casual and trendy atmosphere of the street food scene contributes to the overall experience, making it a laid-back option for a quick meal.
Indian King Biryani House offers a focused set of services that cater to the on-the-go nature of its clientele.
- Curbside Pickup: Customers can order ahead and pick up their food without having to wait in the line. This is a great feature for busy individuals.
- Delivery: The cart partners with delivery services, allowing customers to enjoy their food from the comfort of their home or office.
- Takeout: As a food cart, takeout is the primary service, with food prepared and packed for quick consumption.
- Dine-in: While there is no formal indoor seating, customers can grab a quick bite and eat on nearby benches or at other outdoor public spaces.
The service model is designed for efficiency and speed, ensuring that even during peak hours, the wait is minimal. This is highly valued by the lunch and dinner crowds that flock to food carts in the city.
The highlights of Indian King Biryani House are centered on its culinary offerings and convenience.
- Wide Variety of Food: The menu is extensive, featuring a mix of Indian, Biryani, and even Chinese food options. This variety, including everything from "Chicken Tikka Masala Over Rice Platter" to "Chow Mein Noodles," ensures there is something for everyone.
- Halal Food: The cart offers halal food, which is a significant highlight for many customers. This makes it an inclusive option for a diverse clientele.
- Authentic Flavors: Despite some inconsistencies noted in reviews, many customers praise the "authentic" and "fantastic" flavors, particularly for dishes like the "Chicken Over Rice" and "Veggie Samosa."
- Quick and Convenient: The fast-food nature of the cart makes it perfect for a "quick bite." It’s a great choice for those who want a quality meal without the time commitment of a sit-down restaurant.
- Affordable Pricing: The prices are generally considered fair for the generous portions, as highlighted in some reviews.
The cart is also popular for solo dining, as its casual atmosphere and quick service are perfect for individuals on their own. It also serves as a great option for groups and tourists looking to experience a quintessential New York food experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Y'all gotta find this cart! The food is fantastic! We saw that they have a very wide variety of foods, but Indian is their specialty. We ordered chicken over pulau rice, veggie samosas, and a chicken gyro. All was great. Also, don't forget to order a masala chai!
May 31 · Guy BattersonThis has to be one of the worse over rice bowls I have ever gotten. I am not understanding the hype.#1: Rice was undercooked or overcooked. It was very stale. Could be rice from the night before.#2: Chicken was overcooked, it was stringy and hard.#3: To much undesirable items in the bowl. While I do appreciate their effort of flavoring, I don’t want a whole massive stick of cinnamon, curry leave, and cardamom in my food.#4: Flavoring was off and tasted bizarre, I had the Chili chicken and lamb over rice.#5: 11$ is quite a bit, it seems like they are always increasing prices. No side salad. Portions are mid.If you want India food, go to an Indian restaurant (order lunch special to save money). If you want Street food go to another well rated cart.I also went here before a while back and had the same thoughts, so this is definitely not a one off thing. Never going here again. If you do decide to go, just know your stomach will hate you.Even by food truck standards, food was awful.
