★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The ramen itself is great, full of flavor, probably top 5 I’ve ever had. However, spicy/hot sauce is for an additional charge (!) and portions are significantly smaller than you’d find at a restaurant for a similar price. This is located at a food hall with few tables so sitting is not guaranteed. I know I will return, but just wish it was more affordable or portions were larger to compensate for it being at a food hall with no seats or chili flakes!
March 04 · Gabriela E. MendezI was craving ramen for breakfast and decided to pop into the City Kitchen branch of Kuro-Obi.One thing that I like about this place is that they offer various types of broths, since I do not eat pork.I ordered the chicken broth ramen and I asked for no pork. I substituted an egg instead.Being the first customer of the day, my ramen was ready right after ordering, but to my dismay, it was lacking.I was given my two eggs in my ramen, and I was also given a large slab of pork. The ramen noodles were a little too firm (possibly they needed to be cooked longer)?Anyways, I only ate about half of the ramen before I threw the rest away. I wanted to love it, but I didn’t.
February 20 · Chanel Brown-Legon (Chanel)Very good Ramen Noodle soup. Not a big portion but the broth taste ok. Located inside the City kitchen 2nd floor conner.
October 13 · Te-Sheng LinOk food. Nothing special. I asked for an addition of corn. Its like $3 for a tiny container added on top. The pork bun burger is more of a taco that rips in half. As usual, no good beverages. This place is located on the 2nd floor. Its a cool looking food hall with not enough seating.
February 08 · O V HI give this review in light of the tasting, portion and the setting to enjoy the ramen.I have the kuro-obi (miso ramen w garlic oil). The noodles were straight and firm at the right degree, not too hard and not soft either. There were 2 pieces of pork, which amounted to 1 piece if you were having ramen elsewhere. The soup base was rich and not water down. It was not salty at all, but yet you don't find the need to add more salt to it, but it isn't quite there yet. I wouldn't mind having more, but it was lacking and in need of improving to enrich it.The portion as others have mentioned are small and does not match up to the price. Mine cost $14.15 with taxes. I can have 2 bowls and probably would feel it just right. The seatings are limited given that it share space with other vendors. But come on a rainy, stormy day, you will likely be in luck. Otherwise you're in better luck having it outside. But if you are able to get a window seat, it can be fun to watch the people and car on the busy 8th Avenue.
