## What is Worth Choosing
When visiting La Parrillada Colombiana, embracing the **Plato típico colombiano** section of the menu is essential for a truly authentic experience. The dishes are designed to be hearty and fully reflective of Colombian cuisine. Here are the must-try items:
- **Bandeja Tres Balcones ($34.95):** While the classic Colombian dish is the Bandeja Paisa, this restaurant offers its own colossal version. The sheer variety and size make it an incredible value and a true feast. A typical 'Bandeja' (platter) includes a variety of meats, rice, beans, plantains, chicharrón (fried pork belly), and more—this 'Tres Balcones' version promises a lavish and comprehensive taste of Colombia.
- **Super Paisa ($21.95):** The heart of Colombian cuisine, the Bandeja Paisa is a massive platter intended to provide a farmer's full day of energy. This "Super" version likely includes an array of rich ingredients like grilled steak (Carne Asada), Chorizo, Chicharron, a fried egg, rice, beans, avocado, and sweet plantains. It is the ultimate comfort food and a fantastic representation of the nation’s culinary roots.
- **Churrasco Asado ($29.95):** For lovers of grilled steak, the **Churrasco asado** is highly recommended. Colombian grilling techniques produce tender, richly flavored cuts of beef, often served with traditional sides and sauces.
- **Pechuga Hawaiana ($19.95):** This Hawaiian-style chicken breast is a popular choice for those looking for a slightly different flavor profile, typically featuring cheese and pineapple, offering a sweet and savory contrast to the traditional grilled meats.
- **Bistec a Caballo or a la Criolla ($19.95):** These traditional steak preparations are essential Colombian fare. **Bistec a Caballo** (Steak on horseback) is famously topped with a fried egg, while **Bistec a la Criolla** is smothered in a flavorful Creole sauce (tomatoes and onions). Both are deeply satisfying comfort food staples.
- **Frijoles con Garra ($17.95):** A dish centered around the essential Colombian red beans, often rich with pork meat, providing a deep, complex flavor that is a comforting favorite.
Whether you're visiting for a quick plate of **Small plates** or a full celebratory meal, La Parrillada Colombiana delivers exceptional flavor and a feeling of genuine welcome, making it a highly recommended and rewarding dining choice for anyone in the New York area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is so good. We didn’t expect such a good experience. Staff were very friendly ( like most of the Colombians are). Dishes Sizes pretty generous:) prices are good too!! Here we have some pictures of our amazing food.. thank you so much . We will be back to feel like we are in a small part of Colombia ☺️
April 19 · Lora PdiazThis place was great. The food was delicious. Drinks were good too! Reasonable prices. The only thing that wasn't great was the wait time for our food. Took a while but it was worth the wait once we dug in. Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend!
June 06 · Wil S.Nice cozy neighborhood restaurant which has an extensive menu. Food was delicious and drinks were made perfectly. Waited awhile for food to be served but it was definitely worth the wait. Large portions and reasonable prices. Ordered the pechuga hawaiana which came with rice and fries. It was so delicious. Wife ordered a seafood dish which came with fish, mussels, shrimp, calamari, rice and fries. She raved about it. Will definitely be coming back.
August 20 · Frank IoriWe ended up at this Colombian spot on Metropolitan after finding out one of our favorite Mexican restaurants had closed permanently (RIP). But honestly, it turned into a happy accident. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a super friendly server. The AC was blasting (God bless) and the menu was beautiful. We ordered frijoles con garrita and the Hawaiian chicken, both absolutely delicious. Portions are huge, so show up hungry or bring a friend who eats like one. And yes, they have a full bar, so you’re covered whether you want a cold beer or a cocktail with your meal. Now… here’s the scandalous part: they charge ¢60 for each to-go container. And listen, I actually agree with it , we should all use fewer containers buuuuut it just looks ugly on the bill. My advice? Sneak it into the menu prices so it’s hidden like a little fiscal Easter egg.Overall, great food, great vibe, and worth a return visit. And yes, I’ll still pay the container fee. Those frijoles deserve safe transport.
August 12 · Lucy GomezSo my wife and I were looking for a Colombian restaurant that serves breakfast near our Hotel in LIC. Found this place today and we are so glad we did. Probably the best Colombian food we had in a while. Everything was delicious. Our experience was amazing. We also enjoy the chat with Dahiana our server. She was really nice and made our experience even better. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back.
