★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Penning a review of Le Bernadine makes me feel like a pickpocket in the Cour Napoléon at the Louvre giving commentary on Eugène Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People. I am just out of my depth, and that's being generous. We decided to visit our beloved NYC. I woke up an hour before the time the website opened to new reservations for this esteemed landmark. That was the beginning of a flawless and thrilling Michelin 3 ⭐⭐⭐ experience.Upon arrival I announced "I'm Kevin, we have a 6pm reservation). I had barely taken a breath when I heard "right this way" and we were gently guided to our lovely corner table for two.The service was, of course, impeccable. The food devine. For appetizers we chose Warm Smoked Sea Trout; Verjus-Fine Herbs Emulsion, Shellfish Medley; Dashi Custard, Spiced Shrimp Consommé, Hamachi Sashimi; Pickled Mushroom and Watermelon Radish, Citrus Dashi and Sea Urchin-Oyster Medley; Nori Cracker; Seaweed Gelée. Every bite was a joyful memory to cherish.Elly enjoyed the Baked Red Snapper; Toasted Nori Rice, Coconut-Green Curry Sauce, and I felt adventurous and absolutely was rewarded with the gentle sweet tastes of Pan Seared Dover Sole; Romanesco and Cauliflower Florets, Toasted Almonds, Soy-Lime Emulsion. Our desert choices included the PLUM VACHERIN(Jasmine Flower Cream, Mirabelle Sorbet) and PERUVIAN DARK CHOCOLATE(Warm Peruvian Chocolate Tart, Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream). The surprise of the night was the chef cooking an off menu surprise gluten-free cheesecake delivered with a candle for us to blow out together in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary.5 ⭐✨⭐✨✨ for this amazing 3 star gem
August 30 · Kevin BarhydtMy husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Le Bernardin, and it was truly unforgettable ❤️From the moment we arrived, everything felt so elegant yet full of heart. The space was beautiful, with fresh flowers everywhere, and we were seated at the most charming corner table. My husband sat facing a gorgeous painting, and I had a lovely view of the room — it felt so intimate and special, like the city paused just for us.The service was beyond gracious. When they found out we were celebrating, they brought out a surprise dessert, and it meant so much to us. Every little detail was thoughtful and warm. And the food… absolutely divine. Every dish was a masterpiece — refined, delicate, full of flavor, and simply unforgettable. It’s no surprise they’ve earned three Michelin stars — every bite reminded us why. We kept smiling through each course, completely blown away.It was the perfect place to celebrate love. Romantic, classic, and full of magic. We’ll treasure this evening forever!
June 23 · ZoeI visited Le Bernardin with friends to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious — fresh ingredients, elegant presentation, and everything tasted great. However, there were a few things that left me disappointed, especially considering the high-end reputation of the restaurant. First, I had informed the staff in advance that one of my guests had a black caviar allergy and requested a substitution. Unfortunately, the dish was served to him without the caviar, but instead of offering a replacement, they simply placed the caviar in the middle of the table, which felt careless.Second, we had mentioned in our reservation that we were celebrating my birthday. When the server brought out the birthday cake with a candle, she approached my friends instead of me. Even after we pointed out that I was the one celebrating, she just placed the cake on the other side of the table. That felt a bit disappointing, especially at a fine dining restaurant where attention to detail should be top-notch.Overall, the food was excellent, but the service did not meet expectations. I hope this was just an off night and not a reflection of their usual standard
June 15 · Alina VWe came here for our 29th anniversary last October and it did not disappoint. To finally visit this French cuisine institution in Manhattan after watching Chef Ripert on TV with the late Anthony Bourdain is definitely a treat. We had the prix fix dinner and enjoyed the presentation, the taste and the cooking techniques. The service is top notch but friendly, not stuffy nor casual, somewhere in between what you would expect from a 3 Michelin star restaurant. The whole place was buzzing even past midnight on Friday night Oct 25, 2024. We couldn't have picked a better and romantic place to celebrate.
August 20 · Carl WongI came here with another person and we were shocked from the moment we walked in. From the service that was incredible to hr food that was so delicious I couldn’t believe it. Every waiter was so kind and the atmosphere was so quiet and relaxing. There was so many paintings and designs that makes it seem so luxurious and is somewhere I will always go when I visit New York. Overall it is worth every cent and O highly recommend.
