When you're looking for a meal in New York City, Le Botaniste offers a compelling reason to choose it over the competition. The restaurant provides a clear and uncompromising focus on healthy, plant-based, and organic food that is still full of fresh, high-quality ingredients. While some patrons have noted that the flavors can be subtle or the portions might seem small, this is often a result of their commitment to avoiding excessive salt, grease, and artificial additives. The true value lies in the freshness and quality of the ingredients, which is something you can taste in every bite.
For those with dietary restrictions, particularly vegans and those who are gluten-free, Le Botaniste is a godsend. You can order anything on the menu without worry, which is a huge relief in a city where cross-contamination can be a concern. The "Prescription" bowls are a popular choice, allowing you to build your own meal from a variety of bases, sauces, and toppings. The "Full Therapy" option, which lets you try three half-portion bowls, is an excellent way to sample different flavors and find your favorite.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere is a major draw. It’s not just a quick-stop health food counter; it’s a place where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, either at the onsite bar or at a table. This blend of a casual, health-focused eatery with the sophisticated touch of a wine bar creates a unique and appealing dining experience.
While the portions might not be designed to fill someone with a large appetite, the intent of the food is to be wholesome and sustaining. As one customer noted, the food is “healthy and heartwarming.” It's the perfect spot for a light lunch, a healthy dinner, or a quick refuel between work meetings, where the focus is on nourishment rather than just volume. The positive feedback from long-time customers who appreciate the consistent quality and clean-eating options underscores its value. For those who prioritize their health and want to enjoy organic, vegan, and gluten-free food in a welcoming and stylish environment, Le Botaniste is an excellent choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Around the corner from my office so this is my 3rd time trying a different lunch item on the menu before leaving my review. Love the ambiance, staff always pleasant and a nice variety of options for a vegan spot in midtown.I went back and looked at the lower rated reviews and there is a theme I must agree with. There is a blandness and lack of flavor to their dishes, for my taste. I love that their vegan meals do not overcompensate with too much salt or grease which meat substitutes meals are often guilty of that are soy based, to their credit. A vegan for over 20 years and NYC is a gold mine for vegans lends to my lower rating when comparing the multitude of vegan options all around that have an explosion of taste and are full of zest and bite. Le Botaniste falls short. To clarify, while there is no disputing the freshness, high quality ingredients and wonderful texture of their meals, I hope they take this feedback to heart and not criticism in suggesting they try playing around with a few bolder spices, even if just 1 dish for those vegans with a more seasoned palate.Third time wasn’t the charm, unfortunately. Cheers 🥂 to the next adventure.
April 28 · AVERY WHITEIf you’re looking to eat healthy and heartwarming food, come here.If you’re hungry and are looking to eat a reasonable amount of food to sustain you through the day, don’t come here. Portions are tiny and designed for someone with a very small appetite.Quality and freshness of the ingredients can’t be disputed, but I must say that I left the place even hungrier than when I entered it.I could’ve paid the same amount of money at the Mexican place in front and get twice the food (also with plant based options).Great to come on a weekend when you know you can go back home and eat from your fridge— bad if you’re looking for sustenance and energy in between work meetings.
August 07 · Miguel DiazRating as a non-vegan person, I stopped by to grab something healthy as a meal. In conclusion: meals for health yes, dessert not necessarily.🥥🥘 Coconut peanut curry was delicious, rich and thick. However, the portion was really small..! It a lot of veggie and little rice.Brownie had a really strong oil taste that I found vegan desserts have all the time. Definitely not olive oil which I feel like should be something to use and better. The cashew cream with it had no flavor.
May 04 · Julia HThis is a restaurant chain where you can grab a quick, healthy, and tasty meal. I’ve visited several of their locations and have never been disappointed. If you’re looking for a vegan-friendly spot to grab a bite — I definitely recommend it. It’s reliable, flavorful, and perfect for a casual, nourishing break.
May 06 · Vitalijus ZuikauskasI ate here about a year ago on a school trip since we were on our way to see the new york philharmonic play and this place was right around the corner from our hotel. The interior design itself is very well decorated and nice which is what attracted us to it. The staff was very nice and friendly to us and was able to serve each of us even with a time crunch. The only issue was that the food itself tasted bland. Most of us reported our plates not having enough flavor. I myself could barely finish my own plate. My friend ordered a brownie and said it didn’t taste good. Now maybe the quality changed in the past year and I hope thats the case but thats just my personal experience with it
