This breadth of choice ensures that whether you’re craving a classic patty melt or something a little more adventurous, there's likely an option to satisfy. One of the most valuable aspects of this particular location is its placement within the NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn campus. It serves a crucial function by providing easily accessible, high-quality, and varied meal options for the hospital community. In a setting where time can be limited and the need for a comfortable, sit-down meal is high, having a dedicated coffee shop on the second level of the main lobby is a significant amenity. It offers a quieter, more relaxed environment compared to a large main cafeteria, allowing for a moment of respite.
Customer feedback highlights both the positives and areas for improvement. A common sentiment is the satisfaction with the savory dishes. For instance, a customer specifically enjoyed the
cheeseburger
andsweet potato fries
, affirming the quality of their main dishes and the diner's ability to execute classic comfort food well. However, another customer's feedback regarding thebagels
and cream cheese suggests a mixed experience with the lighter fare, particularly noting a high price point for a seemingly small amount of cream cheese. This is a common and important consideration for New Yorkers, for whom a quality bagel is a fundamental expectation. The note on counter seating discomfort for larger or taller patrons also provides valuable insight, suggesting that table seating might be the more comfortable option for some.Location and Accessibility

NYU Lutheran Coffee Shop Reviews
The bagels have male pattern baldness with how little cream cheese they give you... For 5$!!!
May 22 · Eva LauNice coffee shop diner. Was hungry for cheeseburger and sweet potatoes fries. It was good. They make good panini too. Good service. My only complaint is the seating for single around the counter is not comfortable. Not enough leg space. I am a bit large and tall so my legs need room.
November 06 · Pam CI come here ever so often when visiting a patient. I must say that the food here is really good and reasonable in price. Waitstaff is friendly and service is quick. The only issue is that it is cash only.
September 28 · Lisa SThe Greek wrap with well done fries! I look forward to this everytime I visit there! It's perfectly made, I wouldn't change a thing, the service, the hospitality, it's just right, everyone there deserves 5 Stars!!
January 12 · Charon VasquezFood is great, but waiters take their own tip without your knowledge. I have had to speak to their manager about it. I have no problem tipping, but I shouldn't be tricked into giving an $8 tip. What they do is give themselves a 20% gratitude and circle it and writing "thank you" next to it so it seems like that's the total of the bill. DONT GO HERE!!
