### What is Worth Choosing: The Pattie Hut Experience
When visiting Pattie Hut & Grill, the best experience comes from sampling the items that define its Caribbean core. For the quintessential meal, focus on the following combinations:
Start with the basics: a **Beef Pattie ($1.75)**. It’s the perfect, cheap, and comforting grab-and-go snack that gives the restaurant its name. For those seeking a full meal, the choice of protein is key. If you crave intense flavor, the **Jerk Chicken ($6.00)** is the essential choice, a menu item lauded by long-time customers.
Alternatively, the **Oxtails ($7.00)** are a must-try for dinner. While the initial portion price is listed, New Yorkers know this dish is best enjoyed over rice and paired with classic, savory sides. It’s the kind of complex, slow-cooked **Comfort food** that many people seek out in Caribbean establishments.
No meal here is complete without the proper accompaniments. Be sure to try the **Mac & Cheese ($3.00)**, a creamy staple, and the sweet, perfectly cooked **Plantains ($3.00)**. These side dishes are what elevate the main protein into a true, home-style Caribbean dinner. If you are a morning person (and the restaurant is operating on time), a small bowl of **Porridge ($3.00)** or **Callaloo ($5.50)** with a **Fried Dumpling ($0.50)** offers an authentic Caribbean start to your day.
Pattie Hut & Grill is worth choosing because it offers an authentic, accessible, and high-value taste of the Caribbean right in Brooklyn. While service consistency is a noted factor, the quality of its signature dishes—the patties, the jerk, and the Oxtails—makes it a neighborhood favorite that continues to draw food lovers from all over the borough.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This placed used to be amazing before it closed down and opened up again by different owners. The owners now alongside with the chef and staff members are very lazy!!! They cannot even open up on time and make breakfast items… this is not once or twice it is everyday!!! The food quality depreciated big time after the last owners.. Tastes more stale and rough doesn’t seem like it’s made with love. We need to stop supporting lazy, selfish small businesses that do not appreciate their customers. Do better.
August 13 · Crystal JayvI am a foodie and this place has warmed my heart for many years. Jerk pork, jerk chicken and one of the best fried chicken in Brooklyn. Check them out and remember good service and quality food is mandatory! Show them some love.
August 07 · Renee OsborneFive stars for the food; however, do not come here if you expect even a modicum of friendliness with your service (because you won't get none and you'll be sorely disappointed). The oxtail, stewed chicken, curried goat, rice and peas and callaloo were all fantastic, probably the best I've had at this price point anywhere in New York.
July 27 · D IOn my way to another spot, "Pattie and Hut Grill" caught my eye with its sign featuring vegan options. I decided to try the Beyond Jamaican beef patty with added mozzarella. It was excellent – the flaky crust and savory, well-spiced filling paired perfectly with the melty mozzarella. A fantastic choice for both traditional and vegan patty enthusiasts! Staff was very sweet
June 11 · Amari hinesI’m from philly where’s there many options to get good Caribbean food but on my travels to Brooklyn I may have discovered the best food ever! Not to mention the people are really nice! I will definitely come back!
