Situated conveniently on Tresser Boulevard, this restaurant carries the reputation of its legendary namesake chef, known for bringing bold, fiery, and deeply layered flavors to the forefront of Chinese cooking in the United States.
The essence of dining at Peter Chang is exploring a menu rich with regional Chinese specialties, where the heat and numbing spice of the Szechuan peppercorn play a starring role. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was by far the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. We ordered takeout, and as soon as we opened the bag, a foul odor hit us. The food was completely inedible. I called right away to complain, and while they did refund me promptly, I’m shocked that a restaurant would allow food like this to leave their kitchen. Absolutely unacceptable, do NOT order from here!”
August 22 · Dana MutkoskiDidn't know this place was here and a search for Good Chinese brought this up. The reviews I read were very mixed. But I decided to give it a try. I went on a Friday night about 6:30 pm. There were many, many available seats. I was seated near a window and noticed the place seemed a bit run down. My booth had cracked vinyl seats. Carpet seemed worn, and when I was in the restroom, it was very rusty. But nevertheless I was hoping for a good meal. The server was nice, attentive, and eager to answer any of my questions. I like a lot of spice, so he suggested some dishes and said he could have them adjust the heat level. Ultimately chose the Sichuan chili wontons and three pepper chicken, with brown rice. And I have to say, both were delicious!! The wontons were a little heavy on the salt, but still tasty, and my chicken dish was really flavorful, especially with the added red chili peppers and the chili paste that was brought to the table. They also had some drink specials like 2 for 1 beers, which I took advantage of. Beer and Chinese, natural great combo! Also loved their brown rice!!By the time I was ready to leave, about 8 pm, the restaurant had gained a few patrons, but was still over 50% empty. So I wonder how long they can keep going. But all in all, my food was delicious, my waiter was great, and I would not hesitate to go back. I hope they're still open the next time I'm in the mood.Added note: I went back and had the riblets as an appetizer and the same tree pepper chicken as my entree. Posted pics. The food is really good here!
August 18 · J. Brian MitchellWe got takeout and it was DELIGHTFUL! Portions were big and food tasted authentic! I loved Kung pao chicken and egg buns
July 24 · Anastasiia OkunevaGood Chinese food restaurant near Stamford mall. Service was very fast and had sufficiently good portion size. There is ample seating space. Some food might be really spicy (3 chillies on the menu), but you can request a lower spice level. We tried fried flounder fish in small plates and General tso, golden mountain chicken and shrimp fried rice as main course. Definitely worth trying and revisiting
November 11 · omkar kulkarniReally great authentic chinese food in a solid but no nonsense interior. My friends who grew up in China all go here & told us about it, I've been going for years. Double Cooked Pork Belly & Pepper Chicken dishes are favorites, and kids love the bubble pancake w curry sauce. Really a gem in the area and not expensive for a group.
May 07 · Corey JVBest Chinese restaurant in Fairfield, Westchester and NY area. The portions are big and the quality is very good. The prices are excellent for what you get. The staff is always very friendly. Our waitress Angela has the best personality. All her recommendations were delicious. The mangolian Lamb, the mixed vegetables, Dim Sum, the bokshoy with Tofu skin is a must. I highly recommend to try their lunch specials and Happy Hour.
