Purse Dumpling Bar Introduce
For New Jersey residents and travelers passing through the Garden State, finding a satisfying and quick meal at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is often a top priority. Purse Dumpling Bar, also known as Little Purse Dumpling, offers a compelling Asian dining option within the bustling airport environment. This establishment positions itself as a modern take on the traditional dumpling house, bringing flavorful, quick-service Asian-American classics to the terminal.
The concept was developed in conjunction with renowned Chef Dale Talde, known for his work in Jersey City and Brooklyn, lending a credible, contemporary culinary twist to the menu. It's a key part of the United Experience in Terminal C, designed to elevate the dining options for travelers, providing a global selection of offerings.
Given its location, Purse Dumpling Bar caters heavily to the airport crowd, including tourists and those with limited time before a flight. The menu is structured to allow for both a satisfying sit-down meal or a quick, delicious grab-and-go option, making it an essential stop for passengers seeking a departure from typical airport fare. It provides a unique dining atmosphere that attempts to blend the casual speed of airport service with the authentic feel of a traditional Asian eatery.
Purse Dumpling Bar is strategically located within Newark Liberty International Airport, making it highly convenient for those flying through Terminal C.

This commitment to accessibility is crucial in a high-traffic environment like an airport, allowing for smoother transit and dining for everyone, regardless of mobility requirements. Travelers are best advised to look for the "Little Purse Dumpling" signage once they are airside in Terminal C, following security. Given its location inside a restricted area of a major transit hub, direct calls for reservations are not typical, and operational hours align closely with the daily flight schedule, often running from early morning to late at night.
For New Jersey-based travelers or those just passing through EWR, Purse Dumpling Bar offers several compelling reasons to choose it over other terminal options. The most notable factor is its commitment to flavor and relative quality within the constraints of airport dining. Unlike many airport eateries that suffer from a lack of staff or attention, this location has been noted for having efficient service and enough staff on hand to maintain timely delivery, which is paramount when catching a flight.
The menu, crafted with a celebrity chef's input, provides a refreshingly different choice, moving beyond standard burgers and sandwiches. Items like their ramen and various dumplings, while sometimes subject to the higher airport pricing, offer complex, Asian-inspired tastes. For those focused on health, the availability of fresh salads and other 'Healthy options' is a major draw, providing a lighter alternative to heavily processed travel food.
Despite some mixed customer feedback—which is not uncommon in high-volume airport settings where prices are elevated and expectations are high—the restaurant generally meets airport standards. Customers often appreciate the speed of the service and the ability to find a hot, non-salty, and edible meal like the ramen. The fusion approach, featuring inventive dishes and staples like ramen and dumplings, ensures that there is something to appeal to a wide array of palates, from the adventurous foodie to someone simply seeking a satisfying, quick Asian meal before their flight departs from New Jersey.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What could go wrong if you order an Asian salad with tofu? Wrong, this is the worst salad I have ever had. I should have checked the review before coming to this place. I wasn't properly greeted at all when the server delievered the food. I wish I can give them zero star. This salad costs $30.14 including tip, but tastes horrible.
August 25 · Young KAirport restaurants should be judged by airport standards! While airport dining options are often lower quality overall (really don't understand why) this spot is decent by comparison. The ramen isn’t rich in flavor but is edible, not overly salty, and was served very quickly. The staff was efficient, with enough people on hand to keep service timely.
November 14 · Pasha JavadiGreat experience at this restaurant! Staff are so friendly and food cam out so quick! I was worried about missing my flight as I was a bit short on time but they assured me that I would be ok and I definitely was. When I come to Newark ill visit again. Such a warm atmosphere
September 26 · Lee-Anne KimI think it was okay compared to the other restaurants around here. I liked my fried rice, even though it could have had more vegetables in it. The prices are high, like everywhere at an airport.
October 18 · Michelle GrafThe most expensive bowl of tasteless rice I’ve ever had. I should have read the reviews first. Shame on me.
