Shah’s Halal Cart Introduce
For anyone in New York City, particularly in the borough of Queens, the Halal cart experience is a quintessential part of the local culinary landscape. Shah’s Halal Cart, prominently situated near the intersection of Kissena Boulevard and the Horace Harding Expy in Flushing, has carved out a significant reputation in this space. It is a cornerstone establishment for quick, accessible, and traditionally flavored **Halal food**. More than just a cart, the location near Queens College makes it a vital source of nourishment for a crowd dominated by **College students** and residents alike.
This Halal food destination operates on the principle of providing flavorful **Comfort food** that is quick to serve and easy on the wallet. It’s categorized as a dedicated **Halal restaurant** specializing in the universally beloved street-food style of platters and gyros. The atmosphere is unapologetically **Casual**, perfectly reflecting the grab-and-go nature of the cuisine. It’s an ideal spot for a **Quick bite** or a full, satisfying meal for **Lunch** or **Dinner**. The menu’s focus on hearty meats served over aromatic rice, paired with their signature sauces, establishes Shah’s as a go-to choice for those seeking reliable, authentic Middle Eastern-inspired flavors in Queens.
The accessibility and prime location of this particular Shah’s Halal Cart make it a fixture in the Flushing area, especially for the academic community. The cart is strategically positioned at **6530 Kissena Blvd & Horace Harding Expy, Flushing, NY 11367, USA**. Its presence near a major highway and in the vicinity of Queens College ensures a high volume of traffic and a constant flow of customers seeking a fast, dependable meal.
For all patrons, the location boasts a **Wheelchair accessible entrance**, demonstrating a commitment to serving all members of the community effectively. While the dining experience is often associated with the classic street-food cart where food is enjoyed standing or on a nearby bench, the establishment's profile suggests the availability of Dine-in options, possibly referring to a nearby, associated physical location that shares the brand's recipes, which some long-time customers prefer for the classic Halal cart experience. The sheer convenience of its positioning at a central intersection simplifies the decision for locals in need of a quick and substantial Halal meal.
Shah’s Halal Cart has adapted its operation to fit the demands of its busy New York City customer base, offering multiple ways to enjoy their popular menu items.

What is Worth Choosing
When approaching the cart, there are several items considered essential for a full Shah’s experience:
- **The Platter Experience (Chicken or Combo):** The most popular item, consistently receiving high praise, is the **Chicken Over Rice Platter**. For those who enjoy variety, the **Combo Over Rice (Mix of Lamb and Chicken)** is an equally excellent choice, offering both juicy chicken and seasoned ground lamb (noted to contain beef) over aromatic basmati rice. These are the classic **Comfort food** staples and are noted for the "big portions" given by the staff.
- **The Gyro Selection:** For a lighter, handheld meal, the **Chicken Gyro** or **Lamb Gyro** (served on warm pita bread with lettuce and sauce) is a perfect **Quick bite**. The **Falafel Gyro** is a highly recommended option for **Vegetarian options** seekers, ensuring a flavorful and crispy non-meat choice.
- **The Signature Sauces:** Regardless of the main protein chosen, liberal use of the signature sauces is non-negotiable. Patrons love the creamy, tangy White Sauce and the potent Red Sauce. Be sure to specify your preference for the sauces, as they are truly what completes the classic Halal cart flavor profile. The sauces are even available for purchase in large bottles, a testament to their popularity.
- **Vegetarian Options:** Beyond the Falafel, Shah's also offers other excellent vegetarian bases, including an option to **Build Your Own Salad** with items like black beans and chickpeas, making it a flexible choice for various dietary needs.
- **Hidden Gems:** For a different savory profile, try the **Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich** or the **Chicken Cheese Steak Sandwich**, served on a hero roll, which shows the brand's versatility in preparing Halal takes on American classics.
Choosing Shah’s Halal Cart in Flushing means opting for a reliable, convenient, and flavorful meal that is deeply integrated into the local culture, especially among the Queens College crowd. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m a freshman at Queens College, and on my second day I decided to try Shah Halal food. Honestly, I don’t understand what the hype is about, it was terrible. The portion was tiny, the rice was cold, and there was barely any chicken. After just two bites, I couldn’t even bring myself to eat the salad and ended up throwing the food away. It was nothing but a waste of money. This was definitely my first and last time getting food from this cart. If you don’t want to waste your money, just go and get pizza from across the street.
September 03 · Buddy CatGuy is very nice, always gives big portions and it's cheap. Cash only but food is so good. They have a dine-in resteraunt but I prefer the food truck
August 09 · 1 1I really love the affordability that this place offers as well as the good eats! I really am I big fan of this cart. I would opt for less sauce as it overtake the whole meal, but I really enjoyed it either way!
June 09 · Shantal TaverasStandard chicken over rice, tasted good. Good location with easy access. The red sauce was more spicy than usual.
July 15 · Sethu MRoll a dice to see if they're open on Saturdays. I can't count the amount of times they just aren't there on Saturdays.
