★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve tried many matchas and this one is true to what matcha is supposed to be, no frills, creamy matcha, rich milk, and gentle sweetener. The staff was kind and I don’t think the price was crazy. We were able to watch the matcha whisked in front of us, great experience, a little bit of a wait due to it not being industrialized as far as how they make their matcha but I don’t mind. It was a calm and quiet enjoyable ambiance.
July 27 · Andrea SolizDuring our time in NY I was determined to visit tea shops that I had only ordered from online. I've known about Sorate a long time but this was my first time visiting their actual location. I was a bit disappointed with the chaos inside. A slow chaos but no real order to the line, no welcome to the store. I ended up just buying a kusenaoshi and leaving. I think they have a cool concept but need to figure out something for the times it gets so crazy.
September 04 · Tiffany RuppSorate is a very popular matcha place. It’s was my first time in New York and I wanted to try a good matcha. The workers are amazing and have great customer service! The guy who helped me to choose a matcha powder before I go inside was very nice ! He recommend a Yugen matcha powder because it’s not bitter or too sweet. It’s just more like perfect amount of both in it! I got Yugen with regular milk and agave syrup! Finished it one second ! I definitely recommend to everyone who wants to have a great experience of trying matcha, watching the beautiful women who’s making the matcha and have a little sweet treat from here! There is also chairs and table outside to enjoy! It’s also not too far from the train station as well!
June 26 · Chealsie LuevanoWaited half hour to get a cup of hand-whisked matcha on the Labor Day, first of all the matcha they used for matcha latte was pretty plain and the staff didn’t mixed it well which was biggest disappointment. I would rather buy the fine matcha powder online and make myself a cup of decent matcha. Not worth waiting and money
September 01 · Evelyn JiangA STELLAR tea experience in everything from ambiance to decor to staff to taste and quality!!!!! Wow just wow.
