Rivareno Gelato Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In a city as dynamic and diverse as New York, the search for authentic Italian gelato can lead you to a few hidden gems. Rivareno Gelato, situated in the heart of SoHo, is one of those special places that promises and delivers a genuine taste of Italy. More than just an ice cream shop, Rivareno is an experience. It’s a place that takes immense pride in its craft, using traditional Italian methods and high-quality ingredients to create a product that is creamy, rich, and truly exceptional. For New Yorkers who know their way around a good scoop, Rivareno has quickly established itself as a top contender for the best gelato in the city.
What sets Rivareno apart is its unwavering commitment to authenticity. Unlike many other shops, their gelato is stored in traditional cylindrical pozzetti, metal containers with lids that prevent light and air from compromising the flavor and texture. This dedication to freshness is a hallmark of true Italian gelato and a detail that makes all the difference. The menu, which changes frequently to showcase new and seasonal flavors, is a delightful journey through classic Italian tastes. From the velvety "Nocciola" (hazelnut) to the intense "Cioccolato Extra Fondente" (extra dark chocolate), every flavor is a testament to the brand's heritage. The shop also offers a selection of Italian pastries and coffee, making it a perfect spot for a quick break. The lovely vibes and friendly staff add to the overall charm, creating a welcoming environment that feels like a little slice of Italy right here in New York.

What is worth choosing
When you step into Rivareno Gelato, the array of flavors can be overwhelming in the best possible way. While all the options are crafted with care, a few stand out as absolute must-tries. The "Pistacchio" and "Nocciola" (hazelnut) are consistently praised by customers as some of the best in the city, with one review stating they "taste just like Italy." The quality of these flavors, derived from high-quality ingredients, is what sets Rivareno apart and makes them a top choice. The "Cioccolato Extra Fondente" is another excellent choice for dark chocolate lovers, known for its deep, rich, and creamy texture. The "Sorbetto" flavors are also a fantastic option, particularly for those looking for a non-dairy alternative, as they are praised for their intense fruit flavor without being overly sweet.
Beyond the gelato itself, the "Rivareno Specialties" offer a more complex and decadent experience. Flavors like "Cremino Rivareno" and "Caramello Salato" provide a unique blend of textures and tastes that are truly special. And if you're looking for something more than just gelato, the menu extends to delightful desserts like crêpes and brownies, which can be topped with your favorite gelato flavor for an extra-indulgent treat. The fact that the shop also serves great coffee, from a classic "Espresso" to a refreshing "Iced Latte," means you can get a full-fledged Italian cafe experience. In essence, what is most worth choosing at Rivareno is the authenticity and quality. July 30 · ZoeThe best gelato spot in the city! Really glad they opened here and there never seems to be any major line the multiple times I went. Pistachio and hazelnut flavors are so amazing as is everything here. Worth coming here whenever I can!
September 07 · Andrew BertoRivareno Gelato is one of my favorite gelato spots in NYC! Every flavor I tried was smooth, rich, and so flavorful. I especially loved the Cioccolato Extra Fondente, Contessa, and Gianduia, all super creamy and satisfying. The fruit sorbets like Passion Fruit, Limone, and Lampone were also fresh and refreshing without being too sweet. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
