Starbucks Introduce
For New Yorkers and travelers passing through the bustling hub of John F. Kennedy International Airport, finding a reliable, comfortable, and accessible coffee shop is often a top priority. The Starbucks at 51 W. Courtyard in Queens, NY, has emerged as a particularly popular and strategic location, especially for those seeking a tranquil workspace or a quality meal near the airport. Situated conveniently at the Courtyard by Marriott, this location functions not just as a quick grab-and-go coffee store, but as a full-service café and espresso bar popular for both breakfast and dessert options.
Local users value this spot for its dual utility: it’s an essential stop for a quick, expertly crafted beverage before a flight, and a practical destination for remote work. The establishment proudly features a high-quality selection of both coffee and tea, creating a casual, yet trendy atmosphere that appeals to solo diners, business travelers, and even families (it is noted as "Good for kids"). Its convenient placement right next to the major airport complex makes it a preferred alternative to the crowded terminal options, offering amenities designed to enhance comfort and productivity.
However, it is important for patrons to note the current dichotomy in the customer experience here. While the product quality—the coffee and the drinks—is frequently affirmed as great and appropriate, some customers have reported significant inconsistencies in service delivery. Feedback highlights challenges with staff professionalism, receiving incomplete or delayed orders, and receiving unpleasant responses when inquiring about service. This suggests that while the product and location are excellent, customers should be mindful of potential service variability, especially during peak times when a wait is noted as typical. By setting the right expectations, New Yorkers can still leverage the high-quality menu and excellent physical amenities this location offers.
The Starbucks at 51 W. Courtyard, Queens, NY 11430, is situated just off the main arteries of JFK Airport, making it an extremely convenient location for those arriving, departing, or simply working remotely in the Queens area. Though the address places it within a hotel complex, the location is highly accessible via the free 24-hour shuttle service provided by the neighboring hotel, which runs to and from all JFK terminals. This makes it an effortless stop for travelers with a layover or for those looking to avoid the high prices and crowded atmosphere inside the airport terminals.
The cafe’s physical design places a strong emphasis on inclusivity and ease of access for the entire New York community and its visitors. The establishment boasts comprehensive accessibility features, ensuring a comfortable experience for patrons with limited mobility.
Key accessibility features include:
- Wheelchair Accessible Entrance: Ensuring a smooth path from the street or parking area directly into the café.
- Wheelchair Accessible Restroom: Providing necessary facilities that meet all accessibility standards.
- Wheelchair Accessible Seating: Offering designated and comfortable seating areas for all patrons.
Beyond the physical accommodations, the Queens location provides a welcoming environment that is popular for solo dining and specifically highlighted as "Good for working on laptop," underscoring the practical utility for modern professionals needing reliable Wi-Fi and a comfortable seat away from home or the office. This focus on accessibility and utility makes it a reliable choice for local patrons seeking a productive environment near the airport.
As a full-service coffee shop, café, and espresso bar, this location offers an expansive menu that goes far beyond the standard cup of coffee. It features an impressive variety of offerings to satisfy a wide range of tastes, positioning it as a go-to spot for a quick bite, breakfast, or an indulgent dessert.

- Quick Bites & Dining: Serving a range of food items perfect for a quick breakfast or a sweet dessert, with both Takeout and Dine-in service options.

The highlights of this particular Starbucks location speak directly to the needs of the Queens community and its high volume of travelers. The combination of excellent product quality and amenity-rich environment establishes its reputation despite the acknowledged service challenges.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When I wanted to order the woman completely ignored me. Then she noticed me, I told her my order and she looked away?! Just to ask me again whicj is very unprofessional. The guy who gave me my order was very nice and prevented the 1 star review. Get your staff in order! At least they should do their jobs. Drink was appropriate.
July 23 · Eliane LiederMultiple drinks that are ordered somehow do not come together. They come separately and if you ask to check on them, it’s very possible to receive unpleasant feedback in return so it’s probably best to not ask at all.I ordered a Venti Matcha Frappuccino.I also ordered a venti matcha latte and only 2/3 of the cup was full.
December 25 · Venus ChinWorst customer service experience I've ever had. I put in am order, payed with a gift card and was told the wait was 30 minutes. 30 minutes pass and still no food or drink. I bring up the issue with what seemed to be the manager and she flat out told me she wasn't going to make. I asked why and she ignored me, and when I started to record is when another staff member finally expedited my order. It was horrible to be denied food and drinks I payed for. The staff there is extremely rude and disrespectful. Where you are in life is not my problem !!!! The thing with the blue shirt is the one who denied me my order.
April 26 · Erick InterianoLoud and terrible staff who add to the noise in a busy store. When I was there, they ran out of lid for hot drinks? That’s strange. Is this even a Starbucks? The manager should do his job. Time to review the team and operations!
