SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa Introduce
In a city as dynamic and culinarily diverse as New York, finding a sushi restaurant that lives up to the hype can be a challenge. SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa, with its prime location in the Flatiron district, has established itself as a go-to destination for those seeking a truly exceptional and authentic sushi experience. The philosophy of SUGARFISH is simple yet profound, guided by the vision of master chef Kazunori Nozawa: serve high-quality, traditional sushi with an unwavering focus on the purity of the ingredients. The restaurant is celebrated for its unique approach, which includes serving sushi with warm, loosely packed rice and a specific, intentional application of sauces and seasonings, negating the need for diners to add extra soy sauce or wasabi. This commitment to detail elevates every piece of sushi from a simple dish to a carefully crafted work of art. The atmosphere at SUGARFISH is a sophisticated blend of casual and upscale—it’s a place where you can feel comfortable and relaxed while enjoying some of the finest fish available. It has become a popular spot for both locals and tourists, for lunch, dinner, or a special solo dining experience. It's a place that is as much about the quality of the food as it is about the integrity of the dining concept itself.
The core of the SUGARFISH experience is its set menus, known as the "Trust Me" options. These menus are a cornerstone of the brand's identity, simplifying the ordering process and allowing the chefs to showcase the freshest, best-available fish of the day. Options like the original "Trust Me," "The Nozawa Trust Me," and "Trust Me Lite" offer a curated journey through a variety of sashimi, nigiri, and hand rolls. This approach removes the guesswork from ordering, allowing you to simply sit back and trust the expertise of the kitchen. The menu also features an extensive a la carte selection for those who want to customize their meal. From a variety of nigiri like Albacore, Japanese Yellowtail, and Salmon, to classic hand rolls such as Toro and Blue and Dungeness Crab, there is an option for every preference. The dedication to quality is apparent in every piece, with customers consistently raving about the "melt in your mouth" freshness of the fish. This focus on purity, simplicity, and quality is what makes SUGARFISH a premier sushi destination in New York City, a place that delivers an authentic and memorable taste of traditional sushi.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Amazing sushi, melt in your mouth good!! Also the tip is included in the price so gratuity is not required. Get the loyalty card, if you eat here at least two times you get a free omakase on your birthday. Well worth it!!
September 02 · viki akkiBay Scallops, large scallops and salmon.. omg. Delicious. I never ate so much sushi at one time. I could have eaten more, but I didn't want to deplete the place. Lol. Needless to say, Go here if you are looking for fresh sushi that taste amazing.
September 09 · ToriSugarfish NYC is straight-up sushi heaven. We went with the Nozawa Trust Me because, well, when a sushi master says “trust me,” you shut up and listen. And damn, it did not disappoint. Every single piece was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The warm rice, the ridiculously fresh fish, the perfect pacing of the courses—it was like a sushi spa day for your taste buds.Highlights? The albacore with ponzu was silky magic, the salmon was buttery AF, and that toro? I’m pretty sure I saw a flash of God when I ate it. Even the simple hand rolls at the end were showstoppers—crispy seaweed, warm rice, and cool fish just doing the Lord’s work. The vibe is minimalist and chill, no soy sauce baths or wasabi smears here—just let the fish shine. It’s not cheap, but honestly, worth every damn penny. You’ll walk out feeling like you just made out with the ocean. Trust that.
April 16 · Adam JonesJust want to say I’ve been coming here for over 2 years now, I’ve been to all the location. Today I had an unpleasant experience with getting seats as the new host trainee made a mistake, but I personally want to thank Ari the GM for making it right and taking care of us while we dined in.We highly recommend this place for sushi! One of the best in the city. Just be ready for waiting time and make sure to stay in lobby to make sure you are seated accordingly so you don’t get skipped by mistake. Thank you Ari the manager again for making things right on our special night.
September 04 · Mahmod Talukder (Chillmahmod)Food was decent but I felt like I was sitting in the middle of the staff’s hangout. I was seated at the bar, and while service was fine, employees kept coming over to chat with each other kind of awkward to watch. For food, I’d suggest the “Trust Me” set. I had the “Trust Me Lite,” and it wasn’t very filling.
