4.0
This review is for take-out food from Tandit Rokhat. As Central Asian food, particularly Uzbeki food, is becoming quite popular and since the food is generally delicious and flavorful, I have sampled quite a few of these restaurants. I find that Tandur Rokhat has decent food at affordable prices, but it is by no means more than ordinary.I ordered five items... the Uyghur Samsa was good with flavorful tender meat, although too baked for my palate. The fatir was awful, not at all fresh, drenched in fat, burnt on the underside. They had it in saran wrap which indicates to me it had been on their shelves for a couple of days. The soups: shurpa soup was good and flavorful while the lagman soup was rich and had lovely handmade noodles. Finally, the Lula kebab with potatoes was a good portion with the kabobs very good while everything else was too oily and too salty. So, in conclusion, decent food at decent prices, much lower than some other places. But, there is much better Central Asian restaurants as their competition and I don't mind paying more for food that I like more, elsewhere. - Maria DiMaggio
