★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This review is for take-out food from Tandit Rokhat. As Central Asian food, particularly Uzbeki food, is becoming quite popular and since the food is generally delicious and flavorful, I have sampled quite a few of these restaurants. I find that Tandur Rokhat has decent food at affordable prices, but it is by no means more than ordinary.I ordered five items... the Uyghur Samsa was good with flavorful tender meat, although too baked for my palate. The fatir was awful, not at all fresh, drenched in fat, burnt on the underside. They had it in saran wrap which indicates to me it had been on their shelves for a couple of days. The soups: shurpa soup was good and flavorful while the lagman soup was rich and had lovely handmade noodles. Finally, the Lula kebab with potatoes was a good portion with the kabobs very good while everything else was too oily and too salty. So, in conclusion, decent food at decent prices, much lower than some other places. But, there is much better Central Asian restaurants as their competition and I don't mind paying more for food that I like more, elsewhere.
June 14 · Maria DiMaggioDecent take out place with delicious tandoori samsa. In March 2025 I stopped by Tandir Rokhat to buy some food for home and to taste a few items for review. The place is small, with a primitive interior, cheap utensils, and paper plates. It has a food smell that soaks into clothes if you choose to dine in. IMO, Tandir Rokhat should be considered as a takeout only. The food left mixed impressions with some dishes being excellent but others - far from so.Overall, I may recommend Tandir Rokhat as a takeout place for excellent tandir samsa, manti, baklava, and perhaps lulya kebab.Food orderedSamsa Tandoori - delicious! Tasted great and fresh, plenty of meat and flavor.Belyash - it was pretty good. I wish it was made right on order rather than reheated but it was still good.Manti - excellent! Juicy, thin dough, flavor tasty filling. These are huge!Pumpkin Samsa - pass on this. Under salted and lacking flavor.Lulya Kebab with Potatoes - good, flavorful, but over salted. Side of roasted potatoes with caramelized onions was excellent.Chicken Kebab - tasteless :( Pass on this.Kimchi Salad - okCarrot Salad (morkovcha) - too much vinegar and too little flavor.Eggplant Salad - ok. This just a mix of roasted eggplants with the "carrot salad" + few roasted peppers.Baklava - perfect! Fresh, soft, how it should be!Fatir with Butter - it was ok, but far from what it should be.
March 25 · beldim2010The flavors here are amazing. The samsa tandoori was so crispy and packed with warm meat — it is a must-try. The manti was delicious as well, as well as the uyghur samsa. Really kind staff too. I would definitely be coming back if I'm ever in the area again.
September 14 · Khoi PhamThis restaurant made my day- no, actually, made my whole month. The tandoori samsa was so good, with its perfect combination of flaky, crumbly dough and savory, juicy minced meat. The lagman portion was very generous, and it was packed with rich flavor that transported me immediately to the vast wonderland of Central Asia. The staff was genuinely friendly, and one of them had a smile like straight out of a Hollywood movie—handsome and charming! I only wish I were a resident of Sheepshead Bay or Brooklyn at large so I could come here regularly. This place is a gem.
March 27 · Leo ZhangIt's a small place, but it's not a bad place. The food is delicious, the prices are adequate. The service is self-driving, but it doesn't get in the way much. In general, if you want homemade food and large portions, you can run in.
