★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Tawan is a standout spot. This east side gem brings together beautiful presentation, a relaxing ambiance, and unbelievably kind staff. Their passion for food was palpable, bringing unique flavors to some of my favorite dishes. Aside from the fantastic burger, some standouts were the Tawan Salad and the Thai green curry crispy chicken sandwich! I cannot recommend this place enough for your next Sunday or Monday night
February 25 · Joshua WongThis pop up had a great vibe. The staff were super friendly. We basically ordered the entire menu. Everything was good. The salad doesn’t look exciting but then you taste it and it’s fantastic. The pears were perfection and the pecans carmelized in cocoa and brown sugar were so tasty. The green curry fried chicken sandwich is delicious but if you have to get just one thing, the Thai Basil burger is AMAZING! Perfection! Served with a cucumber pickled with fish sauce and white vinegar, loved it! Three words….Get. The. Burger!
December 02 · Beth MWe tried both the Thai green curry fried chicken sandwich and the Thai holy basil burger with fried egg and both were so good.the fried chicken is sooooo crispy and green curry sauce is goooood togetherEverything is made fresh and chef have attention to serve us good quality of food
March 12 · Sprite like a drinkA pop-up only available on Sunday and Monday nights in an already hard to find jazz bar, Taiwan NYC is the very definition of a hidden gem. Both the burger and chicken sandwich were delightful: crunchy, juicy, with hints of Thai flavors. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you feel like you’re in a speakeasy in the best way. However, do note that our food took a solid 30-45 minutes to arrive, so I would definitely recommend coming with a group you can kill some time with.
March 26 · Zachary Zhusome of the most flavorful burgers you’ll ever have. nothing to say except SO delicious and run the by the kindest owners who make everything in house.thai holy basil burger is juicy and seasoned perfectly + the holy basil flavor comes through very well. curry chicken sandwich is massive and super crispy, layered with eggplant + the curry is such a unique flavor.don’t miss their corn ribs! i could eat a whole bowl of theseIG: @tofueeats
