★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been a customer of Waka Tay for a long time. Food is tasty and that is the reason I continue eating food from Waka Tay. However, recently service has not been the best especially the delivery service. Today, an order for Chicharrón de Pescado was placed. When my mom opened her order of chicharrón de pescado to her surprise there were few pieces of chicharrón de pescado and yuca. The food container looked half empty and this costs $18. WHAT A SCAM! For $18 I expect a good size portion. When my mom called the restaurant she didn’t even get a I’m sorry we will do better the next time” nope nothing. Regardless if you eat at the restaurant or order take out the food portions should be the same as well as the service for both ways should be the same too. Unfortunately, we will not be ordering food from Waka Tay any longer. When you start overpricing food but reducing the size portion it’s time to find another restaurant that what you pay for matches the portion of food.
October 04 · Griet MedranoThe prices on the menu are not updated. I ordered a Seco de Frijoles and the price was incorrect when the bill came. I inquired with the waitress and she said management has not updated the menu prices. This is dishonest by the restaurant. I will not be coming back and I would not recommend anyone this restaurant.
October 12 · NiloLove the baked chicken and salad. Its my go to when I'm eating low carb.
September 02 · angela moscarelliAs a Peruvian. This restaurant embarrassed me. Firstly when we came in no one greeted us. Nor did anyone seat us we were just kind of stared at then we just awkwardly sat down somewhere. I went asking for their vegetarian options as marketed online. They had no idea what vegetarian is. They also had no basic veggies commonly used in Peruvian dishes such as carrots or broccoli 🤦♀️. My bf ended up ordering a meat dish and it was reallly good. The service was bad, and I don’t feel this restaurant represented Peruvian food or culture. I wanted to love this place as it is less than 10 mins from me but I left very dissatisfied.
August 17 · Berkeley FortiniService was just ok. I wouldn't describe it as very friendly but it wasn't say it was bad either..Peruvian food is heavily influenced by Chinese and you can see and taste it in the food. A lot of their dishes look like variations of Chinese stir fry and fried rice.I ordered a chicken Lomo Saltado. The food was good, very flavorful but I do think they add in too many French fries as fillers instead of the actual chicken meat. There really wasn't too much chicken in the dish. However, their green sauce is to die for. I'm sure there's a lot of calories in it but it's worth it.I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back here again.
