Why Yedang is Worth Choosing in the New York Cafe Scene
Choosing Yedang means opting for a unique and high-quality experience that transcends the standard New York cafe. If you are a resident in Queens or the wider New York area, this spot is an absolute must-visit for specific, compelling reasons.
The primary draw is the authentic Korean Bingsu. For those who have experienced traditional Korean shaved ice, Yedang is a place to find that genuine flavor—focused on quality ingredients like authentic red bean and cinnamon, rather than overly sweet, trendy toppings. It provides a cultural connection and a depth of flavor that is hard to replicate elsewhere in the city.
Beyond the shaved ice, the Rice Cake specialty is truly exceptional. Customers consistently note the superior taste and artistic presentation of the dduk, making it a reliable and premium choice for celebrations. While the price point may be slightly higher than other establishments, the overwhelming consensus is that the taste and excellence are worth the cost. For birthdays, holidays, or any occasion requiring a beautiful and delicious centerpiece, Yedang's rice cakes are unmatched.
Finally, the cafe offers a peaceful, service-focused environment. In the demanding pace of New York, finding a quiet and casual spot with friendly, professional staff—as highlighted in customer reviews—is a significant bonus. Paired with the convenience of on-site parking, Yedang is the ideal destination for a relaxing dessert outing, a unique cultural treat, or the source for a spectacular, traditional celebratory cake. It offers an experience that is deeply satisfying and consistently high in quality.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I was craving for bingsu (shaved ice) and dduk (rice cake). This place had both. What a perfect combination? Their bingsu was yummy. It was a traditional bingsu I remember from Korea. It was so good. If you are looking for sweet strawberry, chocolate, mango, etc. this isn’t the place. Their rice cake was really yummy too with lots of different flavors. Oh, ladies who worked here were so friendly and kind too. I am coming back!
February 12 · Erin KI ordered rice cake to give to friends and family for my son's birthday. I previously ordered from another place but they cancelled my order on the day of his birthday because their employees didn't come to work. I called several places and called Yedang as my last resort. The lady that picked up call was very nice. She said she can't do last minute order however she can save rice cake she just made for me. I purchased rainbow ricecake, tri color rice cake, pumpkin rice cake & white rice cake. The price is bit more expensive then other places but the taste and presentation are excellent. I would come back and re order for his following birthdays.
June 23 · J HarrisonI had ordered rice cake from here a few times up to this point. The last time I went the lady was talking on the phone to someone the entire time while taking my order. The other times I went she was indifferent towards customers and came off as quite rude. I went again today and found a hair in one of the rice cakes I got. I had to throw out the whole thing and felt disgusted afterwards. Never going back again and wouldn't recommend their products. Based on the other reviews for them it seems like I'm not the only one experiencing their lackluster customer service.
January 16 · Min KimBest Bingsoo ever! Shaved ice was made of milk and they added the condensed milk with all other toppings. They have about 4 kinds of shaved ice/bingsoo, and the original bingsoo was really good. The Yedang also has a variety selections of rice cakes. The price is reasonable and worth paying the amount.I would definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends and family!
June 02 · Young KoMy friend and I stopped by and bought two different kinds of rice cake. They were both really hard and not chewy or soft.Items were pretty pricy in general, so do their tea drinks. The soybean powder rice cake tasted savory.. sesame oil taste was really strong.
