What is Worth Choosing?
For a first-time visitor, a few items on the menu are particularly noteworthy. For drinks, the Frozen Margarita or a Frosé is a perfect choice, especially during happy hour when they are served in a fun plastic bag and come with a cute rubber duck. Their specialty cocktails are generally a great choice for a flavorful experience. The Pumpkin Martini or a seasonal drink is always a good idea to get into the spirit of the season.
On the food menu, the 230 Fifth Nachos are a great shareable option, while the All Beef Sliders are a solid choice for a small bite. For a more substantial meal, the Steak Frites or Miso Glazed Salmon offer a more upscale dining experience. During the weekend brunch, the Breakfast Burrito or Banana Pancakes are classic, crowd-pleasing options. Be sure to check out the unique brunch cocktails like the New York Pizza Bloody Mary for a truly memorable experience. For dessert, the Brownie Ice Cream Sundae is a perfect treat. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm really torn on my rating and thoughts on this rooftop bar. I gave it an overall five stars solely because the views are spectacular. It is a wonderful place to go. Hang out anytime you are in New York City. However, after visiting many many times over the years, I feel there are changes on how the places run which I do not view as positive. Maybe the changes are necessary to maximize profit and because it's become such a popular place. I can understand that. The food menu has greatly expanded and even includes slices of pizza! Unless you're eating, you're directed to one of the two bars and told to find seating that does not say reserved. While this is a large space, the upkeep and maintenance is important to make it look bright and new. I don't feel this is a strong point. As far as the drinks, they're okay. Nothing unusually good. Reasonable beer. Selection is also available.Overall, if you're a fan of rooftops, you must visit to see the views.
July 31 · Frank ReichlFantastic rooftop bar with fun drinks and exceptional views of the Empire State building! They have happy hour specials Monday-Friday between 12-4pm. I visited on a Tuesday right at opening and had no problem finding a good seat with a view. Note that not many tables in the shade have a view of the Empire State Building. I ordered a frose. The frozen alcoholic drinks during happy hour are served in a plastic bag but do come with a cute rubber duck. Someone ahead of me in line paid extra to include a small inflatable flamingo with their drink, which I believe they were allowed to keep. The machine was really struggling on the day of my visit, so my drink came out more slush than actually frozen. Their food menu was also pretty sparse at opening as they mentioned only serving pizza by the slice. Loved the Empire State view, but I think this might be a better place to visit in the evening/at night for the city lights and more extensive food menu.
August 16 · Michelle Barnes230 Fifth Rooftop Bar was an excellent experience…when it came to food and drinks. The drinks are marvelous and made perfectly. On top of that, the food was great, served quickly—especially for it being busy. Now, I’m a bit biased when it comes to reviewing rooftops in New York City, but I can say it is very very crowded. They accept walk-ins but be cautious that you will have to look for your OWN table. It is very crowded, it is a bit loud especially near the DJ table (obviously), and the staff members leave you hanging (if you don’t like this, I wouldn’t recommended).Personally I’d give a 3.5 star rating because it is basically self-service. You order your own food near the bar, pick it up yourself, and then lounge around. That wasn’t my problem in specific, but the hostesses seemed very passive and disinterested. I assumed because it was busy and I’m very understanding when it comes to dealing with peak hours and customer service—but it made me feel a bit intimated especially given the crowded atmosphere.Nonetheless, this rooftop is amazing. Great food, fast service, and an outstanding view of New York City. However, it would be helpful if the hosts were a bit more friendly.
May 25 · Chelsea Lately230 Fifth Rooftop is one of the best rooftop spots in NYC! The view of the Empire State Building is absolutely stunning — especially at sunset. The atmosphere is fun and energetic, perfect for hanging out with friends or going on a date.Overall, a great NYC experience with unforgettable views and a lively crowd. Highly recommend visiting at least once!
July 25 · Super Pupper familyA Memorable Father’s Day at 230 Fifth RooftopMy Father’s Day at 230 Fifth Rooftop was an awesome experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the host and promptly escorted to our reserved table by the window—complete with a stunning view. Our waiter welcomed us with refreshing mimosas, setting the perfect tone for brunch. The menu offered a diverse selection, and every dish we tried was thoughtfully prepared. A special touch: the chef personally came out to ask if we enjoyed the food, which we truly did.Whether you're planning a date or just catching up with friends and family, 230 Fifth is a top-tier choice.Thank you, 230 Fifth Rooftop. We’ll definitely be back!
