They very kindly helped me find the rare champagne and wine serves at my parents wedding almost 46 years ago. And, to boot, they even shipped it to me all the way down to Florida along with the baked goods I've missed since moving down here more than 27 years ago!!!!Thanks Stu!!! I really appreciate it!!!!!Unfortunately, one of the baked goods had both walnuts AND pecans in it, and nearly killed my husband of 5 years. He was in the hospital for 5 days. That's why I gave 4 stars and not 5. - Dr. Leahla

Services Offered: The Intimate Wine Bar Experience

When 5th and Vine was operational, its service model was centered on creating a refined, intimate experience that specialized heavily in its beverage program and accompanying food menu. The focus was less on volume and more on quality and personal connection, contributing to the "everybody knew the owners" atmosphere described by former guests.

The primary services and experience at the time included:

  • Specialized Beverage Focus: The main offering was, unequivocally, Alcohol, with a significant emphasis on a lengthy wine selection. This included curated lists of fine red, white, and sparkling wines, often from unique regions or specialized vintners, aiming to attract wine connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.
  • Gourmet Small Plates Menu: To complement the wine, the bar offered a menu of small bites and appetizers that were designed to pair perfectly with various selections. This menu was noted for items like artisanal Charcuterie and Cheese boards, featuring high-quality ingredients such as Prosciutto, Coppa, and a variety of aged cheeses.
  • Dinner Service: Beyond small plates, 5th and Vine elevated its dining experience with full Dinner entrees, demonstrating its commitment to being a full-service destination, not just a drinking spot. Dishes were typical of upscale American cuisine, designed to be sophisticated yet approachable.
  • Personalized Customer Care: A standout service feature, as reflected in customer accounts, was the incredible attentiveness and willingness of the owners and staff to engage personally with guests, including attempting to source rare or specific wines and even packaging and shipping food and drink items to former patrons who had moved away from New York.

The emphasis on the quality of its Alcohol program and its gourmet food pairings defined the caliber of service 5th and Vine offered to the Staten Island community during its operational years.
