What is Worth Choosing
BCD Tofu House stands out as a top choice in New York City for its specialization in authentic Korean soft tofu soup. While Koreatown offers a plethora of dining options, BCD’s unwavering focus on its signature dish and the quality of its offerings is what makes it a "staple spot." The ability to customize your "soon tofu" soup with various proteins like beef, seafood, or kimchi, along with the traditional addition of a fresh egg, provides a personalized and deeply satisfying culinary experience. The soups are praised for being "intense" and "full of flavor," capable of making you "full after this meal," which speaks to their heartiness and rich taste. This focus on a core, well-executed dish ensures a consistently high-quality meal that is both comforting and exciting.
The restaurant's value proposition is another key reason to choose it. Not only are the main dishes reasonably priced for the generous portions, but they also come with a wide array of complimentary side dishes. This "many side dishes" approach is a hallmark of Korean dining and adds significant value, allowing diners to sample a variety of flavors and textures alongside their main course. Furthermore, the fact that BCD Tofu House caters to a variety of dining needs—from "solo dining" to a large group—makes it a versatile and reliable choice. Its acceptance of reservations is a thoughtful feature that helps manage the "usually a wait" crowds during peak hours, demonstrating a commitment to customer convenience.
Finally, BCD Tofu House’s role as a late-night dining destination in a city that never sleeps is a major advantage. Its ability to serve hot, comforting, and delicious food at late hours makes it a perfect spot for night owls, industry workers, or anyone just getting out of a show or event. While one customer had a negative experience with service as a solo diner, the majority of reviews highlight the "fast services" and the generally positive experience, suggesting this was an isolated incident. The restaurant's popularity and the loyalty it inspires in its customers, who have "milestones celebrated at this spot," are powerful testaments to its quality and lasting impression. For anyone in New York City seeking authentic, flavorful, and comforting Korean food in a convenient and lively setting, BCD Tofu House is an exceptional choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Almost like a standard Korean restaurant. ✨Many side dishes, fast services, decent food, and reasonable prices. Tofu soup is definitely a must and worth the price.Intestine tofu soup was intense since the soup will be full of the flavor. It came with an egg and rice, you can be full after this meal.Spicy sauce crab was a raw and cold dish. Super Korean thing which I loved it. But the taste was pretty heavy and spicy.
September 11 · Julia HFood is great for lunch, I usually always come here for lunch with coworkers or by myself. But I honestly was left really disappointed this time and won’t be coming back. I always get the spicy squid and ask for very little spice. It’s never been a problem until now. It wasn’t just the mistake, but the fact they tried to convince me that this was the least spicy possible. This isn’t even the mild version, this is extra. You can see the clear difference in the two pictures. The less “spicy” one is visibly different. Honestly, they wont treat you very good if you’re a solo dinner. If you’re gonna go, go with a group or go somewhere else.
September 11 · Emely RomoWent out for dinner with friends and had to wait over 40 minutes for a table of six. This place seems better suited for smaller groups (2–4 people)—otherwise, expect a long wait. That said, the food was excellent! They offered a few complimentary snacks, which was a nice touch and gave us a preview of the menu. The standout dish was definitely the Seafood Tofu Soup—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. If you’re not in a rush and enjoy good food, it’s worth the visit. Just plan ahead if you’re coming with a bigger group.
July 27 · Naveen KumarGood place to go for Authantic Korean Food😀We ordered 해물순두부지게, 해물파전, and 오징어볶음. Everything tastes good for me! Even the appetizers(반찬) were very good👍🏻And we didn’t eat all of them at there so we take away the 오징어볶음 to home
September 01 · ᄌᄌᄋFirst of all, a lot of customers, waited around 30 min outside in the rain, but I’m fine with it because I was waiting for my friend, but due the fact that they don’t take reservations it might be a hassle if you can’t wait up to 30 min to an hour outside.Second, good atmosphere, decent services, the waitress was fast and gave us water when needed, but forgot to give us eggs that are included in the combo, but it’s totally fine and understandable since she had to serve multiple tables. Finally, the food tasted good, especially the fish, insanely crispy on the outside and tender in the inside, the tofu and rice are amazing too, prob one of the best rice I’ve tasted, not overly moist and perfectly cooked, the sea food pancakes were amazing too very flavorful and crispy would be perfect if the portion can be a little bigger.Overall, would recommend if you don’t mind waiting and want some nice hot tofu pot and rice plus cold dishes that are fairly priced in the combo, would revisit.-sawa
