#### What is Worth Choosing
For a local New Yorker craving an uncomplicated, satisfying meal centered around chicken, Betong Hainan Chicken offers a direct route to an essential Southeast Asian classic. The central and most worth-choosing item is, without a doubt, the **Hainan Chicken Over Rice**. While customer reviews indicate a desire for more intensely fragrant rice and stronger flavor profiles in the base dish, the restaurant offers multiple variations to cater to different tastes.
Customers should focus on exploring the full range of chicken presentations offered, including the highly popular:
- **Hainan Fried Chicken Over Rice:** This option provides a crispy texture for those who prefer fried chicken while still enjoying the signature Hainan preparation.
- **Special Mala Chicken Over Rice:** A great choice for diners who appreciate a bold, spicy, and numbing flavor characteristic of Mala seasoning.
- **Curry Chicken Over Rice:** This selection appeals to those seeking the rich, aromatic spices of a classic Thai curry paired with tender chicken and rice.
To enhance the dining experience, choosing from the extensive **Side Order** menu is recommended. Pairing the main chicken dish with **Ginger Rice** (as opposed to plain rice) can add the desirable aroma and flavor depth often associated with the authentic dish. Additionally, for a complete cultural experience, opting for the classic **Thai Iced Tea** is a must, and finishing the meal with the traditional **Mango Sticky Rice** provides a sweet, creamy, and authentic end to the Thai culinary journey.
While some reviews mention challenges with cash-only transactions and menu availability, the specialized focus on comfort chicken dishes and the prime Flushing location make Betong Hainan Chicken a go-to spot for a quick, casual **Lunch** or **Dinner** that satisfies a very specific, savory craving.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Have had hainanese chicken before and what i got was slightly salty sticky white rice (sushi rice) and skinless chicken chopped up with a minor splash of soy sauce. Should have read the latest reviews they are telling the truth. For 10 dollars I could get cheaper hainanese chicken with actual chicken flavor rice Or save money and make it at home - even that is better than what I got. I tossed it out after a few bites. Sauce I got was mixed chili soy sauce not separated either. Place prob going to close as it was dead on a sat.
March 15 · Christina kokoDO NOT come to Betong. They are cash only, so I gave them a 20$ bill for my 10$ meal. They didn’t have enough change, so they only gave me 1$ back? Sorry, but if you are cash only you should have cash to give back as change…Everything about the meal was plain.. They use plain rice, plain chicken, instead of fragrant ingredients. And this place really needs urgent updates. (they do not have most of the things on their menu) I wonder how they stay in business, it’s questionable.
December 01 · epicturtlemasterWent there for lunch. Chicken is their offer, but sadly their dishes of chickens were not tender at all (only a few were good). Their nan is mostly supermarket bought, I will not recommend at all. Curry chicken's potato were hard and raw, chickens were cold seems like just came out from fridge and heated up quickly. The other chicken was bad too, msg are all over, chicken was not tender.....A disappointment for a chicken specialty restaurant that is worse than a below average restaurant. Will not come again.
October 22 · Mcken MakBest Hainanese chicken rice ever. The chicken is tender and juicy. The sauce is phenomenal. We ordered the family set for two. Foods is quick in generous amount and friendly service. If you are in the area this is a must try place.
April 29 · sarapass shopSorry for writing this but really not worth the visit.. $10 for a lunch plate, no sides, comes with plain soup (nothing in it.)I got a mix chicken rice (steamed & fried.) one was dry and one was oily. I couldn’t finish it.My friend’s pork chop was dry and oily at the same time.Surprisingly, the only good thing was the rice.
