★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our group of six had an absolutely magical evening at Carbone. We went with what I’d call the “trifecta” – the rigatoni, tortellini, and ravioli – and each dish was outstanding, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. For dessert, the tiramisu was decadent, and the chef’s courtesy lemon cheesecake was the perfect refreshing finish to the meal. The atmosphere was lively yet elegant, and the staff could not have been more attentive and welcoming. They made the entire experience feel special from start to finish.Carbone delivered on every level – food, service, and ambiance. We left already planning our next visit. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a truly memorable dining experience.
August 25 · Luke JacksonExpectations were unreasonably high, figured it had to be all hype - feel like I've had some really excellent authentic Italian. Was wrong. Everything wasincredible, experience to food. Spicy rigatoni - really good. Pork chop - amazing. The corn with truffles - insane. Fish looked great too. They even give some super fresh mozzarella at the start with some garlic bread.Tried the cheesecake and that was fine.Service was impeccable and they do seem to enforce their dress code. So keep on top of that. Was thrilled when my boy Dan was able to get reservations - hope you can enjoy the legendary spot too.Until another visit - back to the supermarket jars 😂
July 13 · Joseph AlminawiEverything exceeded my expectations—the food, the service, and the atmosphere were all outstanding. The space is small, which makes it feel cozy and intimate. I’d heard mixed things, with some saying it was just hype, but I was completely blown away. They start you off with a few appetizers, each one delicious. I ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. For my main, I went with the pork chop and peppers, since the hostess mentioned the ribs weren’t as strong. That pork chop was phenomenal—by far the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly tender, packed with flavor, and cooked beautifully. The playlist added the perfect vibe to the room. I didn’t order dessert, but they surprised me with a small almond pastry at the end, and it was the perfect sweet finish.
August 16 · Alex LopezCarbone is an excellent restaurant serving delicious Italian cuisine. Not an easy place to get a reservation but worth the effort! I had heard that a lot of celebrities frequent Carbone. The stars that I saw there were the employees. From the guy who grated the cheese onto our pasta to the General Manager, everyone there were so welcoming they made us feel like family. A jewel of a place on the edge of SOHO. Loved it!We got lucky and got another reservation for a Sunday lunch. Carbone is such a welcoming place. Everyone there treats you like family. They really care about your experience. We had a small problem with one dish and that was handled promptly and professionally. Nobody is perfect but Carbone comes as close as you can get!
August 24 · Toby WilliamsGreat food but not worth the hassle of how hard it is to get into this restaurant. You must get the spicy vodka rigatoni, meatballs, tortellini, and the table side salad. The truffle corn was really good if you like truffle.
July 25 · N COur meal at Carbone was almost 3 hours long and full of delicious food from beginning to end. Recommend going in a group and eating family style. The two above average drinks were definitely the Negroni and the espresso martini. I wouldn’t recommend the other cocktails in comparison. The table starters were a delicious, crispy garlic bread, a soft tomato bread, cauliflower in an acidic drizzle, and pieces of wheat sesame bread. The garlic and tomato breads were exactly how you want them.Tableside Caesar salad has plenty of parm and a wonderful dressing with a spicy kick/twist to it. Somewhat unique and subtle spin on a classic dish. Just like the Carbone menus, the croutons were also comically large.Words can’t describe the spicy rigatoni, which everyone and their grandmother has heard about. Creamy, small kick of spicy, and symphony of flavors all dancing in your mouth, textured onto al dente pasta. Best dish of the meal. The spaghetti pomodoro was similar to the Caesar salad in that it has a subtle Carbone-twist while maintaining the core of the dish. Strong basil flavor and very well made sauce. The fettuccine al funghi has a light mushroom flavor with a soft oil glaze. The flavors were not saturated and overall paled in comparison to its spicy vodka sibling. Wouldn’t recommend this one.Broccoli rabe is probably an acquired taste, but we thought it was wayyy too bitter to finish. Skip. The desserts were all solid but unfortunately nothing to write home about. The rainbow cookies were very chocolatey and dense, tiramisu was moist and light-medium, carrot cake was thick (best dessert if I had to choose), and the pistachio gelato was very very (read: too) rich.Service was top notch, and felt more genuine/“straight up” than most Michelin restaurants. Waiter was a no-bullshit type guy and accommodating to our parties’ dietary restrictions. 5/5.
