Cuzin’s Duzin Introduce
Welcome to the sweet side of Downtown Brooklyn! Amidst the vibrant culinary landscape of New York City, a true gem stands out, specializing in a treat that is both a classic comfort food and a modern indulgence: the mini donut. We’re talking about Cuzin’s Duzin, the beloved donut shop founded by the legendary "Donutologist," Todd Jones. Far from being your average pastry spot, Cuzin’s Duzin has perfected the art of the bite-sized delight, serving them up fresh and hot, made right before your eyes.
For New Yorkers searching for a quick, high-quality dessert, a fun breakfast, or a unique catering option, this shop offers a refreshingly simple but endlessly creative menu. The core concept is pure genius: hot, airy, light, and fluffy mini donuts, customizable with a range of delicious drizzles and creative toppings. Whether you need a mid-day pick-me-up or a unique late-night snack, Cuzin's Duzin delivers a warm, satisfying treat every time.
The owner, Todd Jones, is not just a baker; he’s an institution. With over 40 years in the donut-making game and more than two decades running his own shop, his passion and expertise are evident in every single bite. This is a place built on a love for the craft, ensuring that every duzin (or more!) you order meets a high standard of freshly-fried perfection.

Features and Highlights
What sets Cuzin’s Duzin apart is the commitment to quality, a creative menu, and the personality of its founder.
Fresh, Hot, and Made-to-Order Mini Donuts: Unlike mass-produced donuts that sit on shelves, every order here is fried to a perfect golden crisp and served warm, resulting in a lighter, fluffier texture that many customers say is vastly superior to traditional donut chains.
The "Donutologist" Expertise: Owner Todd Jones has over four decades of experience and a genuine love for his craft. He is often the one personally supervising the making of the "delicate donuts," which adds a level of quality and community connection that few other places can match.
Creative and Unique Glaze Options: The menu is constantly evolving and features specialty flavors that capture the New York spirit. Highlights include: Cinnamon Churro Toast Crunch Donuts, S'mores Nutella Donuts (with milk chocolate, marshmallow, and Nutella drizzle), Warm Apple Cider Donuts, and classic Funnel Cake Style dusted with powdered sugar.
"Donuts For Grownups": A major highlight is the line of alcoholic-glazed donuts, offering a truly unique New York indulgence. Options often include glazes featuring spirits like Hennessy, Ciroc, or Coquito.
Inclusive and Welcoming Atmosphere: The shop is explicitly Family-friendly and LGBTQ+ friendly, maintaining a warm, upbeat, and welcoming vibe for everyone who walks through the door in Dekalb Market Hall.
Payment Flexibility: While some older reports suggest a limit on credit cards, the shop is equipped to handle modern digital transactions, accepting Debit cards and NFC mobile payments.

What Is Worth Choosing
For first-time visitors to Cuzin’s Duzin, the choice can be overwhelming, but there are a few items that consistently earn high praise and are essential to the full experience.
You absolutely must start with the Cuzin’s Duzins Mini Donuts (Funnel Cake Style). These are the foundation of the menu—light, airy bites that are dusted in powdered sugar and served hot. They are the perfect way to appreciate the superior quality of the freshly-fried dough.
Next, if you are looking for an adventurous and unique flavor that defines the shop, try one of the Donuts For Grownups with the signature Coquito Glaze or Hennessy Glaze. These options, described by customers as perfect and not overwhelmingly sweet, offer a sophisticated, flavorful twist you won't find at a traditional donut chain. These small bites strike an ideal balance, packing a ton of flavor without the heavy, greasy feeling of a larger pastry.
Finally, for those with a serious sweet tooth, one of the specialty options like the S’mores Nutella Donuts or the Churro Toast Crunch Donuts makes for an unforgettable dessert experience. Remember the local tip: these donuts are best eaten right when you purchase them to enjoy their incredible fresh warmth, though they can be reheated in an air fryer if you manage to save some for later.
Cuzin’s Duzin isn't just a donut shop; it’s a Brooklyn institution offering a bite-sized piece of culinary passion. Stop by Dekalb Market Hall and tell Todd, "The Donutologist," that you came to try the freshest duzin in New York!

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I ordered a few of their non-alcoholic mini donuts, but they do have alcoholic options too. The donuts are made right in front of you using a fancy machine. Afterwards they're coated in powdered sugar. Overall it's a quick dessert choice. It should be noted they don't accept credit cards, but do support several ePay apps as an option.
November 06 · Nick FelkerDonut stop, get it, get it.Todd is the proud owner of Cuzin’s Duzin in Dekalb Market Hall in Albee Square. He’s been in the game for 42 years and has own his own shop for 26 years. His fresh donuts are so delicious. I tried the Funnel Cake Powdered and the Coquito Glaze and let me tell you gotta try it. These bites aren’t overwhelming sweet and are perfect.Thank you Yelp for this opportunity and Todd for allowing me to see the process and learn about your business.Tell Todd @eatingwithetienne sent you.
June 10 · Geraldine EtienneI'm not going to lie it took me a while to find the doughnut shop because you can easily miss it, but I am so happy that I was able to find this gem with the support of staff and a few patrons. I love supporting small businesses that serve popular desserts with a twist. I thought the menu at Cuzins Duzen was simple but creative. The store offers a variation of doughnut flavors such as fruity pebble, cinnamon churro, smores, crazy glazy and caramel. I can't wait to visit again. Quick note: these doughnuts should be eaten when you purchase them since they are fried unless you want to reheat them using an air fryer.
July 14 · ElleTodd makes fresh donuts to order as you watch. Always fun to watch him make the delicate donuts, but it's better to eat them. The bite-sized donuts come out warm and ready to eat. He has a variety of drizzles to add different flavors to the donuts. Try the apple in the morning and the Hennessy in the afternoon. A must visit when in the Food Hall.
November 27 · Mark LoGiuratoReally amazing and really good spot to eat. I definitely recommend their donuts, it’s a million times better than Dunkin Donuts. The donuts come fresh and hot. They make it on the spot. They have the sweetest snacks ever so if you’re ever feeling a little hungry, come on over to Cuzins Duzin.
