★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Whether one’s looking to get those perfect Instagrammable city skylines or a drink with friends or colleagues under the sun, rooftop bars are a warm-weather must in Gotham. They are popular. So don’t expect a quiet, intimate evening. The crowds can sometimes take away from the relaxing vibe, but hey, it’s New York, and there’s always something to look at.Located on the 40th floor inside the Aliz Hotel, my company hosted a milestone celebrating 30 years in the US and 20 years in the UK at Dear Irving On Hudson yesterday. Reservation is highly recommended.Upon arrival by elevator, guests were treated with a glass of champagne in a small, lively, and welcoming 007-themed interior with classy speakeasy-style lounge chairs and couches.A selected menu with choices of unique cocktails, beer, wine, and other mixed drinks were offered as well as trays of appetizers, i.e., Chicken Empanadas, Sliders, Tuna, and Falafel Balls being passed around by the staff. We also had catered food consisting of Filet Mignon, Salmon and Pasta. For entertainment, Dan played magic on the guitar and set up photo booth to make this event memorable. The two small outdoor balconies with some seating provided a panoramic view of the surrounding cityscape, deemed breathtaking, of the Empire State Building, One World Trade, Hudson Yards, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty, and a gorgeous sunset.Huge thank you to the staff at Dear Irving On Hudson, especially Edwin, Stafford, and Lisa, for making our experience enjoyable. As first-timers, all boxes were checked with the view, the ambiance, the drinks, and the bites, which we could recommend.
May 08 · Eloy YipThis place is amazing!!! The view is breathtaking!!! Drinks are so tasty that you just want to keep ordering. Small nice bites and the service out of control, just in point, our server Karlo, was so attentive that my wife felt like we were in VIP table, we never had an empty glass, great ambient and drinks, definitely very recommended
