What is Worth Choosing
For New York diners looking for an unparalleled Korean seafood experience, Duk Soo Goong offers specific menu items that are highly recommended for their authenticity and unique preparation. When reviewing the vast menu, certain categories and individual dishes stand out.
The restaurant's focus on traditional Korean raw fish is a major draw. Adventurous diners and lovers of fresh seafood should explore the dedicated Seafood Platters menu. This is where you will find delicacies that are often hard to source locally, such as Live Octopus (산낙지), Sea Pineapple (멍개/Meong-Gae), and Sea Cucumber (해삼). The Assorted Raw Fish Platter (모듬회) and the Marinated Raw Fish Salad (물회) are excellent choices for experiencing Korean-style sashimi, or 'Hwae' (회). Hwae is typically served with different dipping sauces, such as the spicy, vinegary chojang, which provides a distinct flavor profile from its Japanese counterparts.
Another highly recommended item is the Seafood Pancake (해물파전), a savory, pan-fried delight packed with assorted seafood. This dish is perfect for sharing and pairs wonderfully with one of the traditional Korean rice wines, like Makgeolli (막걸리), to complete the authentic experience.
For those who prefer cooked entrees, the Korean stews are a highlight, offering deep, comforting flavors. The Spicy Cod Soup (대구매운탕) or the Fresh Pollack Stew (생태찌개) are excellent choices for a hearty meal, especially on a cold New York evening. The classic Bossam (보쌈), a platter of steamed pork belly served with accompaniments, is also a highly praised option for a rich, flavorful main dish, suitable for groups.
While the sushi rolls are offered, for a truly immersive and traditional experience, the Korean specialties, particularly the raw seafood and warm comfort stews, are what truly define Duk Soo Goong’s unique position in the Flushing dining scene. Patrons appreciate the generous portions and the fact that a meal often comes with a variety of complimentary banchan, those essential Korean side dishes that complete any authentic table setting, making the value proposition quite attractive.
In conclusion, Duk Soo Goong is a dedicated destination for New Yorkers craving genuine Korean seafood and comfort food, providing a casual and reliable dining spot that delivers on flavor, tradition, and service.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I got the worst sushi I have ever had here as take out a couple of days ago. They are incredibly cheap with the fish. They were more like rice rolls with a hint of fish. If you are going to sell sushi rolls like this you should not even sell sushi. The eel was especially terrible. They only added a sliver of eel to the roll.
May 27 · Angelo VelezLovely homey Korean food! Got the ox bone soup and it was perfect for warming up on a windy day. The banchan that came with the meal for the table were each so delicious! We also got complimentary barley tea! 🥰🥰🥰
March 10 · Jane WuDelicious, authentic Korean food -- and even good for vegetarians like me. Such a sweet new gem in Flushing with cozy ambiance! I got the Chunggukjang (Extra Fermented Soybean Paste Stew), and it is so rich, savory, and yummy -- perfect for a winter day. Every banchan dish was also a hit. The staff are so kind and have great customer service. Stop by if you're in the area, or make the trek like me -- well worth it!
March 10 · Sunnie LiuFriendly neighborhood Korean spot with a good selection of stews. We ordered the haemul pajeon (seafood scallion pancake), samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), and boyangtang (black goat health soup). The portions were all very substantial and we packed a lot to go. Decent selection of banchan, but not the most I've ever seen. The soups were very good. Very tender meats, and in the case of the goat stew, the herbs and vegetables took the gaminess completely out of the goat meat.Service was very friendly as well, would come back again.
April 07 · Martin KimThe young yang center is back!!! But it was not, it was different owner in there.I was really excited to have the pork cutlet here again but it was totally different taste and shape. Food is just ok but it was overpriced.Probably not going there next time.
