Kofte Piyaz Introduce
## A Taste of Anatolia: The Heart of Turkish Cuisine at Kofte Piyaz in Brooklyn
For New Yorkers seeking an authentic, flavorful journey to the heart of Turkey without leaving the five boroughs, Kofte Piyaz has long been a cherished destination. Nestled in the dynamic Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, this Turkish eatery specializes in the classic dishes of Anatolia, offering a menu that appeals to both meat-lovers and those exploring vegetarian options. Beyond the superb food, Kofte Piyaz is defined by the incredible passion and dedication of its owner and chef, Murat Ersoy, whose commitment to quality and hospitality has earned the restaurant a loyal following and maintained a consistently high customer rating for well over a decade.
Unfortunately, recent events have impacted this beloved local gem. According to a dedicated customer review, the restaurant has faced a temporary setback due to a recent fire in the building, causing a temporary closure. This news has understandably devastated the loyal patrons who cherish Chef Murat's culinary artistry and charming service. However, the strong community support and the enduring legacy of the food itself serve as a testament to its quality. This review is written in anticipation of Kofte Piyaz's hopeful reopening or new venture, encouraging New Yorkers to keep an eye out and be ready to support this essential piece of Brooklyn's culinary landscape once it is ready to welcome diners again.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Got seated very quickly and the owner was very nice and informative. When the food came, he took his time to introduce each dish and how best to enjoy them. Definitely try the Turkish coffee and the mixed grilled platter. Can't recommend this place and service enough. Five Stars!!!
July 22 · Gary LuongFor almost 15 years, Kofte Piyaz, a small Turkish restaurant has maintained over a 4.5 rating consistently. It's really an incredible achievement. The chef, Murat Ersoy, has often run the restaurant all by himself. He is charming and kind and makes incredible food that is also affordable. I am devastated to learn the restaurant closed due to a recent fire in the building. I hope Murat reopens a new restaurant or starts a new venture. I will be happy to support it.
July 07 · James GroffThis restaurant is a hidden gem. You can easily walk past it without recognising the sign, but this is an AMAZING restaurant, the food is exquisite. The sandwiches are tucked in a kind of grilled bread, and every ingredient tastes fresh: the grilled beef sandwich, the lamb sausage, both are MUST-TRYs. Finally you can top your meal off with an authentic Turkish coffee.P.S. don't forget the salads 👌P.S 2: I have tried MANY MANY Baklava across the world, the Baklava in this place is one of THE BEST, exquisitely juicy, not so sweet, perfect texture. It's made by the chef and is always fresh, you CANNOT get anything like it even in pastries, it's AMAZING!
October 03 · Iman HosseiniI loved everything about this place. The gentleman was so nice and helpful. It’s small, cozy and the food was so fresh. The chicken and meatball plates were amazing. I will definitely recommend this place to others. Thank you for great service and quality of food.
