Ladurée Introduce
In the bustling landscape of New York City, there are few places that offer a true escape from the urban grind quite like Ladurée SoHo. This isn’t merely a pastry shop; it’s a beautifully curated destination that transports you straight to a chic Parisian salon. Famous worldwide for its delectable macarons, Ladurée's SoHo location is a hidden gem that combines the elegance of a French tea room with the tranquil beauty of a private garden. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by an atmosphere that is both refined and relaxed, with every detail, from the delicate decor to the carefully arranged pastries, designed to delight the senses.
Ladurée is not just a brand; it’s a piece of history. Established in 1862, it is known as the inventor of the French tea room and the ambassador of the Parisian macaron. This heritage of quality and artistry is evident in every aspect of the SoHo location. The front of the shop is a vibrant, elegant retail space, but the true magic lies in the stunning backyard garden. This serene space, particularly enchanting in the spring, is filled with lush greenery and blooming cherry blossoms when in season, creating a breathtaking setting for a quiet moment or a celebratory brunch. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel a million miles away from the noise of West Broadway, a rare and precious find in a city that never sleeps.
The experience is a multi-sensory one. Beyond the visual appeal of the decor, the air is filled with the sweet scent of freshly baked pastries and the aroma of high-quality coffee. Whether you're catching up with a friend, enjoying a moment of solitude, or celebrating a special occasion, Ladurée provides the perfect backdrop. The focus on "great dessert" is well-deserved, but as some reviewers have noted, the quality extends beyond the sweets to the coffee and even savory menu items. This dedication to a holistic culinary experience is what makes Ladurée a true standout.
While some past reviews mention minor service issues, the overall consensus is that the charm and quality of the establishment are what make it a must-visit. The staff is generally good and the ambiance is so captivating that it’s easy to get lost in the moment. Ladurée is more than just a quick stop; it’s a destination for anyone who appreciates elegance, fine pastries, and a peaceful garden retreat in the middle of Manhattan.

What is Worth Choosing
When you visit Ladurée, the first and most obvious choice to make is a box of their famous macarons. The flavors are a delight, and they are perfect for gifting or for a personal indulgence. For a true taste of their artistry, try the BOX PRESTIGE S4 54 MAC or a smaller version to sample the variety.
For a sit-down experience, don’t miss the pastries. The Ispahan, a rose-flavored macaron with lychee and raspberries, is a classic for a reason. As one customer noted, it’s a "dessert experience" and is a must-try for its beautiful presentation and delicate flavors. If you are not a fan of floral flavors, the Dark Chocolate Eclair or the Plaisir Sucre Ind, a praline and chocolate dessert, are equally excellent choices.
The garden itself is the ultimate attraction. The best way to enjoy it is to reserve a spot for a leisurely breakfast or brunch. While the coffee is noted for being "smooth and well-prepared," ordering a classic tea or an espresso to pair with your pastry is the perfect way to soak in the atmosphere. The Rose Croissant is a perfect and photogenic choice for breakfast, or you could opt for a Ladurée Croissant for a classic French morning. In this charming space, the "elegant escape" is what is truly worth choosing.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1★★★★☆ Elegant escape in the heart of MidtownLadurée Midtown is a beautifully chic spot — the kind of place that instantly transports you to a Parisian salon. The vibe is refined yet relaxed, with elegant decor and a calm atmosphere that makes it perfect for catching up with a friend or just treating yourself to something sweet. The coffee was smooth and well-prepared — definitely a step above your usual Midtown options. The dessert selection is thoughtfully curated, with an emphasis on their famous macarons, of course.I tried the **Ispahan**, which is more of a dessert experience than a simple macaron. It’s a rose-flavored macaron sandwich filled with luscious rose cream, fresh raspberries, and lychee. Beautifully presented and delicately flavored — though to be honest, I’m not a die-hard macaron fan, so while I appreciated the artistry, it didn’t quite wow *me* personally. That said, for anyone who *is* into macarons or simply enjoys elegant desserts in a stylish setting, Ladurée is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the pastry case — and to soak in that lovely ambiance.
July 28 · Manja Petrov⸻Really charming French spot with Parisian-style decor and a stunning backyard, perfect for springtime brunch. Service was generally good, but we were seated indoors under a dripping air conditioner. Even after flagging it to the staff, no one offered to move us, despite plenty of open tables nearby.I ordered an espresso martini, which was just okay. For food, we tried the chicken with mushroom sauce and pastry, absolutely delicious, though the portion was tiny. The croissants were just average and the Ispahan pastry was pretty to look at.
July 28 · Veronica ElaineI celebrated my birthday at Ladurée and it was such a lovely experience! The atmosphere was beautiful and elegant — perfect for a special occasion. The hostess and manager were incredibly kind and helpful, and the service overall was excellent. Everything felt thoughtful and well taken care of. Thank you
August 05 · Dinara SydykovaI had a wonderful experience at this elegant French restaurant in Soho. The décor is beautifully classic, creating a refined and cozy atmosphere. There’s also a charming outdoor area that feels like a garden, with tables and an outdoor bar, perfect for a relaxed evening. The food was not only delicious but also presented in a very chic and artistic way. What truly stands out is that the restaurant specializes in exquisite French desserts every bite was a delight! The place operates by reservation, and there’s a professional host to welcome guests. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy classic French vibes and top-quality desserts.I have tried more than one type. I will share pictures for you.🍇🍓😋😋
June 09 · Mario MBeautiful French bistro tucked away in the heart of SoHo, best known for its iconic macarons but equally impressive for its stunning garden seating. The space transports you out of the city and into a serene green oasis surrounded by trees. The tea tray was a highlight with seasonal treats with delicate, lovely flavors. Every detail was beautifully presented. A truly charming and memorable experience🇫🇷
