★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Overpriced! My halibut was $40. II've prepared better halibut at home and my friend said the same about her roasted chicken. Also, it was very loud, making it extremely difficult to have a conversation. If you're eating alone, of course, there's no problem. We, also, ordered sorbet for dessert, which was very good.
September 01 · Dolores LongoIt’s definitely overrated. The nicoise was mostly a stack of tuna on a lot of lettuce. They don’t have a winę list which gives them an opportunity to rise the prices e.g. a glass of simple prosecco costs 23$. And the manager whom I told it has been a bad practice was shouting on me 👎🏿
September 19 · Joanna Matuszkiewicz-RowińskaWe’ve been coming to Le Charlot for the last five years, and it continues to be one of our favorite no-frills spots on the Upper East Side. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a casual bistro—nothing over the top, just solid, satisfying French food in a cozy setting. The steak au poivre is always a reliable choice, rich and well-prepared. We also enjoy the endive salad and the lobster salad, both simple but well done. You don’t come here expecting a Michelin experience—just like many bistros in Paris, the charm lies in its consistency and atmosphere. What really makes Le Charlot stand out is the warm, attentive service. The staff is always kind and welcoming, and it’s one of the few places in the neighborhood where you can often just walk in without a reservation, which is a big plus. The location is also fantastic—a short walk from Central Park and the Met.The prices are very reasonable for the area, especially compared to nearby spots, and the Bordeaux by the glass is a treat. If there’s one thing that could improve, it’s the cleanliness of the bathrooms, but it doesn’t take away from the overall experience.Le Charlot is a neighborhood gem—unpretentious, dependable, and always a pleasure.
June 08 · Iriabel E. NailenUnfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The quality of the food was far below expectations. Even worse, the management was unprofessional and showed little interest in addressing our concerns.Good service and good management can make up for many things, but here both the food and the attitude left us with a very negative impression. We would not recommend this restaurant based on our visit.
August 01 · S MWe had a mid afternoon lunch, chicken salad had too much dressing on arugula, Caesar Salad the romaine was damp. The server did not ask if we wanted pepper on salad or more water, had to get someone’s attention. In addition not a fan of large portions but not even a piece of bread for a $102.00 tab plus tip.
