If you are trying to find this place then forget about the street view photo they have posted - it is very misleading because the 3 giant “Macchiato” signs featured on the side of the building in the photo are now totally non-existent and have been replaced by Taco Bell signs. The cafe is a bit difficult to locate. To find this shop you’ll need to go to the Northwest corner of West 44th Street near 7th Avenue and then walk West on 44th street for about 15 meters/50 feet (make sure that you’re walking on the North side of 44th street). You will see the entrance for the Paramount Building (it is lit up like a marquee) which confusingly is the entrance for 1501 Broadway. If you get to the Brooklyn Deli you have passed it!Enter the building and take the escalator on the far right up to the next floor. As soon as you get to the top you will see the coffee shop on your immediate right. This café serves decent shots off a Faema E71 machine. The coffee is decent and they have a good basic food service as well. There is plenty of seating including a section that has a place to plug in your laptop. The best bonus of all is that it is quiet and uncrowded. - bv 74353

Macchiato Espresso & Wine Bar Introduce

Macchiato Espresso & Wine Bar: Your Secluded Coffee Haven in Times Square

In the non-stop, sensory-overload environment of Times Square, finding a quiet corner to enjoy a quality cup of coffee and a fresh meal can feel like a genuine accomplishment. Macchiato Espresso & Wine Bar, located in the 3rd-floor lobby of 1501 Broadway, is precisely that kind of rare find. It's a place that offers a welcome respite from the crowds and noise, providing a surprisingly serene atmosphere for those seeking a moment of peace. While its location makes it a bit of a hidden gem—requiring a little bit of navigation to find—the payoff is a calm and uncrowded space, which is a significant bonus for anyone in this bustling part of New York City.

This cafe is more than just a place to grab a coffee; it's a full-fledged espresso bar and food service that prides itself on quality and efficiency. The coffee is a major highlight, with a decent selection of espresso-based drinks made on a high-quality Faema E71 machine. This attention to equipment ensures a great cup every time, a fact appreciated by coffee connoisseurs. The menu extends beyond just drinks, offering a range of fresh-made-to-order sandwiches and salads, as well as classic bakery items like croissants and bagels. This combination of quality coffee and a variety of food options makes it a perfect stop for breakfast, lunch, or a quick bite in between.

For those in need of a productive space, Macchiato is an excellent choice. It offers plenty of seating, including a section with convenient power outlets for charging laptops and phones. This feature, combined with the quiet atmosphere, makes it an ideal spot for remote work, studying, or a relaxed business meeting. The casual atmosphere is welcoming, making it a comfortable place to sit and linger, a stark contrast to many of the more crowded, quick-turnover cafes in the area. While a customer review did mention some issues with the food service, the overall sentiment points to a place with decent coffee and a solid, basic food menu that gets the job done.

The journey to find this establishment might require a bit of a treasure hunt. The lack of prominent street-level signage can be confusing for first-time visitors. However, once you know the secret—entering the Paramount Building on West 44th Street and taking the escalator on the far right—you've unlocked a quiet, productive, and comfortable spot that few know about. This exclusivity adds to its charm, making it a valuable hideaway for local office workers and seasoned New Yorkers who need a break from the Times Square madness.
