It’s a dedicated spot that offers a flavorful, quick, and satisfying dining experience, making it a favorite among locals and adventurous foodies alike.
## Introduction / Overview
PanBao66 六六生煎王 (which translates roughly to "Six-Six Pan-Fried Bun King") is more than just a restaurant; it’s a focused destination for high-quality, authentic Chinese fare, particularly excelling in the art of the pan-fried bun. Known for its juicy, flavorful, and freshly made **Shanghainese *sheng jian baos***, this spot has quickly become a standout in the intensely competitive Flushing food scene. Patrons are drawn to the spectacle of the buns being made—the “huge pan of rotating buns”—and the promise of a dish that perfectly balances textures: a soft, fluffy top and a crispy, crunchy, toasted bottom, all filled with piping hot soup.
The establishment’s core menu is centered around the signature "Sixsix Bun" but wisely expands to include other essential Chinese comfort items, ensuring appeal for a wide range of tastes. It’s a place that prides itself on delivering **comfort food** and a **quick bite**, fitting seamlessly into the fast-paced New York lifestyle. PanBao66 is consistently **popular for lunch and dinner**, serving as an ideal stop for **solo dining** or a rapid meal. The entire atmosphere is designed to be **Casual**, focusing entirely on the quality and affordability of the food itself, which is a major draw for the local community in Queens.
This culinary focus ensures that when New Yorkers crave the specific delight of a perfectly prepared sheng jian bao—a true test of authentic Chinese street cuisine—they know precisely where to find it: right here in the heart of Flushing.
## Location and Accessibility
A crucial factor in the popularity of PanBao66 六六生煎王 is its specific and highly convenient location. The restaurant is situated at **136-20 Roosevelt Ave #29, Flushing, NY 11354, USA**, but more specifically, it is located **inside the bustling eatery/food court of the New World Mall**. This location is a major benefit for accessibility, placing the restaurant at the nexus of transport and commerce in one of New York City’s most vibrant cultural hubs.
The **New World Mall** itself is a landmark in Flushing, making the restaurant easy to find for both locals and those traveling from other boroughs. Being located within the food court means patrons can easily combine their meal with shopping, errands, or simply transit, as Flushing is a major transit node with excellent subway and bus connections. This indoor food court setting makes PanBao66 an accessible choice regardless of weather, offering a climate-controlled (though sometimes crowded) environment perfect for a rapid meal.
For New York residents, the address on **Roosevelt Avenue** signifies proximity to authentic Asian dining. While the interior location means some navigation is required within the mall's eatery, the effort is well worth it for the quality and distinct flavor of the Shanghainese buns. The operating hours (daily 10am-8:30pm, according to public information) further enhance its accessibility, allowing busy New Yorkers to drop in for a quick, filling meal from late morning through dinner.
This strategic location ensures PanBao66 is always on the radar for New Yorkers looking for authentic, affordable, and quick Chinese food in Queens.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1There's a whole bunch of spots to eat in New World Mall, but this is one of our favorite stalls to get pan-fried pork buns! They're Shanghainese sheng jian baos, filled with hot soup. They’re juicy, flavorful, filling, and freshly made in front of you. I love seeing that huge pan of rotating buns as well. While the top is soft and fluffy, the bottom is crispy, crunchy, and toasted. You can enjoy the soupy pork bun with vinegar, chili oil, or just by itself. Eat these very carefully, like a soup dumpling!PanBao66 六六生煎王 (inside New World Mall)(136-20 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11354)Open daily 10am-8:30pm
June 30 · Mingvery delicious pan fried soup dumpling and very cheap! it’s located inside New World mall eatery. The actual name of the restaurant is different so it was hard to find. The eatery cafeteria was very crowded ahd no AC blowing.
August 04 · linda hoangThe store is located in the food court on the Lower Level of the New World Mall. They only took cash when I visited so I would prepare some. I was lucky enough to get some right after they just finished a batch so I didn't need to wait for long. Tasty, moist pork filling and hot, flavorful broth wrapped inside satisfyingly chewy wrappers with a golden crispy bottom. I recommend having these dumplings with some vinegar to cut the richness since it got a bit too fatty for me after a few (very good) bites.
August 28 · Christina HuynhFreshly made but long wait (more than 10-15 minutes). Great technique: good amt of soup and crispy bottom. The taste of the filling is just OK. I prefer the Shanghai style of a very thick bottom bun - almost 3/4” so this one is very thin. 6 for $9, 8 for $11. A bit of a wait. Apple Pay, credit card at same rate as cash. Dec 2024
January 09 · Linda MThe pan fried buns here are pretty good. I still prefer my spot in Manhattan; but these prices can't be beat. The filling is generous and soup in the buns, tasty. I prefer a thicker, fluffier wrap; but for this price, I'm still happy with what I got.
