June 27 · Mariya RThe Magic 🪄 Door 🚪 to Tokyo 🇯🇵. I have been in Tokyo many times, and when you walks in the streets of Hell’s Kitchen you can easily miss this Magic 🪄 Door. It’s like taking a flight ✈️ to Kyoto. The design is noble, elegant, simple, minimalistic with bright color of wood, its screams JAPAN 🇯🇵😍. The staff is equally noble, attentive, knowledgeable, caring and welcoming. The pastries are true example of how food is being served in the streets of Tokyo 🇯🇵 they are true works of art, crafted with delicate precision, and care and only in japan 🇯🇵 the food looks the same like in the pictures. We chose three 3️⃣ different pastries that reflect the unique taste of the Japanese patisserie. Basil 🌿 Green Apple 🍏 Cake basil apple jelly, caramel, white chocolate mousse, chocolate sponge royaltine, matcha glaze.Green Tea 🍵 TiramisuMatcha jelly , mascarpone cream, green tea soaked biscuits, rice 🍚 puffsStrawberry 🍓 shortcake 🍰 fresh cream, strawberries, sesame sponge cake, strawberry jam, white chocolate, meringue, pink peppercorn. The strawberry shortcake was delicious and most known , the green apple 🍏 basil 🌿 was good and spectacular beautiful, the green tea 🍵 tiramisu wasn’t sweet as the traditional tiramisu and very much matcha 🍵. This patisserie is a unique cultural place and it’s a must for someone who never visited Japan 🇯🇵
July 21 · Amos NachumMy friend and I went here for dessert after having udon at the sister restaurant Raku, which was located in the back of this space separated by a curtain. After taking a look at their offerings in the display case, we went with the matcha tiramisu and chamomile mango mousse. For drinks, we got hot ginger yuzu tea and a matcha latte with oat milk. I always appreciate when places don't upcharge for oat milk substitutions.Since we were dining in, the staff brought our food to us once it was ready. Seating consist of one small booth that can fit four people and the rest is barstool type seating with a long counter.Out of the two desserts that we got, I liked the Matcha tiramisu more as the matcha flavor was just right and it was a good whipped cream to cake ratio. The chamomile moose dessert was also nice, but I personally wished that the chamomile flavor could've been stronger as it felt overpowered by the mango mousse and white chocolate. The ginger drink was perfect for a cold day, the yuzu flavor was stronger than the ginger. Personally I like my drinks sweeter so I had to add some my matcha latte. Luckily there is a variety of sugar by register (white sugar, stevia, brown sugar, agave syrup etc).A cute little place to get desserts for sure. I'm still sad that their other location closed before I could try the afternoon tea set. I hope they'll bring it back someday!
May 21 · Jenn L3.5 / 5.0 - The Patisserie Fouet near Union Square was one of my favorite cafes in the city, so I was very excited when this location opened. The entrance of this location is cool and it has a nice, clean feel when you enter, with beautiful desserts displayed on one side and bar tables on the other. My favorite drink at Patisserie Fouet was the Royal Oolong Milk Tea, which I was very disappointed to see that they don’t have at this location. So I tried the Hojicha Latte ($8+), which I wasn’t too impressed with, especially considering the price. It was lukewarm (I like my drinks hot) and they don’t even bring to your table. (apparently, they only have “table service” after a certain time)I miss the original location, which has unfortunately, now closed. Although seating is limited here, it is a nice space if you don’t mind the prices.
May 16 · Sawako YI’ve been obsessed with Patisserie Fouet since their previous location and am very excited to see they found a new spot. It’s very cozy and the desserts are as delicious and well thought out as always. It’s definitely on the pricier side but it’s clear a lot of care goes into these treats. I’d especially recommend their little composed cakes with lots of different textures. Desserts here are very balanced and not overly sweet.
