RAKKA Introduce
In a city as dynamic and diverse as New York, the search for truly authentic and healthy food can sometimes lead you to the most unexpected places. Nestled in the heart of the East Village is RAKKA, a Middle Eastern restaurant that has quickly become a beloved local secret. This "hidden gem" is celebrated not only for its fresh, homemade flavors but also for its incredibly welcoming service that makes every visitor feel like a valued guest. RAKKA is a versatile spot that serves as a cafe, falafel and gyro shop, and a full-fledged halal and vegetarian restaurant, catering to a wide range of tastes and dietary needs.
RAKKA's reputation is built on a simple, yet powerful foundation: clean, fresh food made from scratch. Customers rave about the fact that the food is not "overly salted" and that they "feel great after eating." This focus on health and quality is a significant draw in a market often dominated by fast food. From hand-made falafels to flavorful shawarma, the food is described as "delicious" and "flavorful," with generous portions at an affordable price. The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, with a few tables for those who want to sit and enjoy their meal. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Delicious!!! I originally planned to go to Mamoun’s but discovered this hidden gem in the neighborhood and decided to try it out. I ordered the veggie plate, which was fresh, flavorful, and clearly homemade - it felt very healthy. The owner was incredibly welcoming and even surprised me with a complimentary lentil soup that was absolutely delicious! This place exceeded expectations and has quickly become my new favorite Middle Eastern spot in the East Village.
August 27 · Dina NYCReally clean food. I think they hand make the falafels from scratch here. I got the Veggie Plate and a small Lentil soup. A lot of times when I eat out at different restaurants, I noticed the food is overly salted but at RAKKA, the food tasted fresh and healthy. I felt great after eating and satisfied. It was a good portion size. There are a few tables to sit inside and one table outside.
