★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A decent lunch spot to grab Taiwanese and Chinese American fare. They offer dumplings, soup noodles, rice dishes, bubble tea, and also stir fried noodles. The variety is decently large, with options differing between proteins. The food itself is pretty good. It's not the most delicious beef noodle soup, but I was impressed they included pickled mustard greens. Dumplings were fairly standard, made in an elongated style and open ended to let out the juices. They have chili oil, but it is fairly mild. Their bubble tea can be a tad sweet due to the boba, so mix well. They have about two people working at a time, one at the register and one in the kitchen. There is also a kiosk for self-ordering. Interior itself is quite sparse, especially the walls, and the kitchen is open.Staff was very nice. The lady that took orders also brought out our trays of food to the table, and she told us to leave our trays rather than take it to the trash so she could clean up for us.Overall, not a bad spot for lunch. Prices for portions are reasonable, especially for the venue location.
September 04 · Yani EdI had an amazing experience at Sanmiwago! Their dumplings are made from scratch, and you can truly taste the freshness and quality in every bite. The flavors are rich, the texture is perfect, and the ingredients are top-notch. It’s rare to find a place that puts so much care into their food, and it definitely shows. If you’re a dumpling lover or just looking for a great meal, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
March 06 · KevinI wanted to eat here, but after watching their kitchen staff through the front window, hard pass. This lady spit something out her mouth into a blue glove and went on about her business making noodles. Touching food like sanitation isn't her business. Hard pass. That was so gross!'and literally boxes of gloves sitting right there.
July 01 · JessicaI've gotten food here twice. First time I came they just opened so I'm not sure if it was soft opening or what but they didn't have any of the drinks except one or two. Came back again after a few months. Now they have everything. I got the Hong Kong Milk Tea Doesn't come sweetened or very slightly sweetened which I'm fine with I prefer less sugar. But usually most places I've been to with HK Milk Tea is sweetened. Dumplings are fine i got the boiled Shrimp dumplings which they should write has pork/chicken as well. As I'm Chinese I know that most shrimp dumplings usually have pork/chicken as well so it didn't bother me. But for the restaurant being in midtown I feel like they should specify. My issue was with the Taiwanese Braised Pork with Rice. I've been to Taiwan a few times and been to Taiwanese restaurants. You're supposed to use pork belly. The photos on Sanmiwago site uses chunk of meat that looks like pork belly. But when I got the order it's ground pork. I know some Taiwanese places in the US uses ground pork when the braised pork is a side to the real meat rice dish you ordered. But when someone orders Taiwanese Braised Pork it should be Pork Belly. The taste was fine. A little bland compared to other places I've had. I might come back here for the drinks/dumplings if I'm really craving it but otherwise...idk. I'd rather go to Bao Bao Cafe on 39th (I'm unrelated in any sense). Food is better there.
June 18 · JJ LeeI got rice dish, malay one, it was so bland. There was no salt in my dish and I had to add salt to both soup and curry. It was not worth 18 bucks.Any Chinese $10 place is better than this. However, the dumplings which I had tried earlier were decent.
