The primary draw is the BBQ quality. When a restaurant is known for its Smoked Brisket and promises "BEST DAMN WINGS IN NY," it signals a dedication to the craft that resonates with discerning locals. While some customer feedback mentions issues with consistency on certain items (like overcooked chicken thighs) and the premium price point for appetizers, the overall promise of tender, smoked Comfort food remains the main attraction. The ability to grab a BBQ fix without the lengthy pre-ordering or long lines often associated with high-end New York-area barbecue spots is a significant benefit.
Secondly, the Great beer selection is a powerful incentive. The location’s partnership allows it to showcase an impressive rotation of craft brews from respected names, catering to enthusiasts who want more than just the standard commercial options to pair with their rich barbecue. This makes the Bar onsite a destination in its own right for a relaxed evening or Solo dining experience.
In summary, SmokeHouse Tailgate Grill offers a unique, efficient, and quality-driven dining experience in Northern Westchester County. It excels in combining the hearty flavors of authentic smokehouse barbecue and juicy Classic Burgers with the accessibility and modern amenities (like Fast service and ample Free parking) that New York diners require. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Ordered little thighs tonight. The young lady told me you were out of Alabama sauce, which I wasn’t thrilled about, but was okay with. I get my order home and the thighs were terribly overcooked and dry. Some were even burned. The order was inedible, but I opted not to go back because it was already 6:45. Service was great. The young lady got my order together and offered me a different sauce. No problem there. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue. The last time we were dining in and it was taken care of and remade.
September 11 · Karen DomanGoing to give this place 3 stars. Here's why...I wanted the chili but apparently they have a limited menu compared to the New Rochelle location so no go. Fine.Got a typical hazy IPA.... Only a 9oz. pour? This was not a high ABV beer where you might find a short pour. We do lots of breweries, lots of pubs, this was definitely not usual.Order the wings appetizer. Listen, I get that prices are high everywhere compared to a few years ago.But $17 for 7 wings?Come on guys, you're just robbing people at this point. The sauce had decent flavor but they could have been crispier. It's bar food, I get it. My expectations are not unreasonable. Tax and tip, it's over $20 bucks for 7 wings. I guess the rich, pretentious clientele doesn't balk at it.2 apps + 2 beers at the bar and you're in it for like $60 bucks. Crazy.Hey, I don't have to go there again right? Good, I won't.I did get good service from the bar tender.
April 29 · Matt P.We were excited to have a new restaurant in Somers NY (pop 21,000+). The atmosphere was casually appealing. There seem to be a good crowd for drinking (beer & wine only). The menu had a decent selection but expected more options. The first thing I noticed was for a "smokehouse" there was no smell. I went to place my order on there computer but many of the options weren't on the screen yet they were on the posted menu. Employee fixed that. It took 30 minutes before I got my text that the food was ready. All the condiments are behind the bar so you have to ask. Since there were two people's worth of food I ask for a tray, but they had none left. Many were dirty and not cleaned yet, that was also true for cleaning the tables. Finally sat down to try the pulled pork sandwich, hamburger and fries. The burger was decent (Blazer Pub better). The pulled pork although juicy had no flavor and they only have their house sauce (should have more of a selection). The fries were bland and had no flavor for fresh cut. No seasoning at all. I have had better store bought frozen fries. If you want better smokehouse food and are willing to travel 15-20 minutes to Mahopac, go to Holy Smoke.
January 21 · MikeOrdered brisket and wings for pick up. Waitstaff was friendly. Order was about 10 min late. This was a little past 1pm on a Fri and the place did not seem very busy. I can understand in the evening it may get a little chaotic. The food was perfectly tasty, just like their bigger location in New Rochelle. Glad to have this option near by. Was told they only have enough staff to open 2 days a week but are trying to expand.
April 28 · A YThe hot honey chicken sandwich was very enjoyable, it's a nice and new experience from the usual DeCiccos lunch break routine of either a hot bar or salad bar. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I'll try their burger and see if it's as good or better than Burger Barn
