★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I went for brunch at Sonnyboy and it was an amazing experience. The service was fast and excellent, and everything came out perfectly. I tried the hotcakes and the breakfast burrito—both were fantastic. The hotcakes were incredibly fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness, and the breakfast burrito was flavorful and satisfying. Definitely a spot I’d love to come back to!
August 30 · Lucia LecounaCame here with my brother. Got the peach burrata toast. The toast was good though I do wish the peaches were more ripe. Also got fried which we split. The seasoning in the fries were really good
September 19 · Bob BurgerBelieve the rumours - this place is excellent. From the food to the background music, from the staff to the interiors, my experience was top-notch. I'll dream about the harissa folded eggs and the matcha latte was flawless. Also with their carefully crafted ambiance I guarantee you'll feel like the main character of a very stylish movie.
May 12 · Katherine SolovievVibey brunch in a cozy cafe with hip ambiance and upbeat background tunes. The music is groovy; I almost want to snap my fingers as I sip my coffee. Some plants sugarcoat the space: the intention is there, but some need more watering. The drip coffee is a dark roast: drinkable and smooth, served in sleek black ceramic ware. Good but not the primary goal of the place: food is. The harissa eggs had the right spice and salad mix (brilliant with the blueberries). Cappuccino could use more foam! Shakshuka could use more herbs and a thicker veggie base. Hanging out here feels like a vibe, and I’m sure it’s worthy coming back at night. AJ, our greeter and server, was great! Drip coffee score: 3.75/5. Everything else score: 4.25/5. Overall score: 4/5.
May 23 · Omri CohenSince I was unable to accomplish my morning appointment and had an afternoon appointment in the area, I was looking for a place where I could sit down and eat and handle some paperwork. I found Sonnyboy, which looked like it had some meat. This is important for me because I'm in on a high protein, high fat diet, with very few carbs. It's very hard to find a restaurant that serves something that I can eat.It was still fairly early, so I got breakfast. I ordered a salmon eggs benedict but requested that, instead of the English muffin, it be served on avocado, which was already coming with it anyway. I then ordered scrambled eggs on the side.It wasn't too long before I got my first dish, the salmon eggs benedict. It was absolutely delicious. The smoked salmon was fresh, the avocado was without a blemish, the poached eggs - once you cut them - were exactly what they needed to be for an eggs benedict, pouring out onto what they are served on, and the hollandaise sauce was flavorful to the point where I didn't need to add any salt to my dish. The only thing that I took issue with was that the Hollandaise sauce was cold. Now, this is intended to prevent the sauce from going bad, but it is always best to serve hollandaise sauce at warm or room temperature. That being said, reheating the sauce can become problematic if you can't sit there and watch it consistently.Because the hollandaise felt like it had just come out of the refrigerator, it made the egg feel cold. That did not stop me from getting down on my plate. The eggs benedict came with a side salad, which was also very good. It was a rather large dish overall, but not too much. A well-rounded meal.Once I finished the poached eggs, I still had some avocado and salmon left over, so I took the scrambled eggs and transferred them to the plate. The scrambled eggs were well cooked, slightly wet like I like them, and fluffy. The texture was exactly what I would expect for scrambled eggs. I did need to add salt for the scrambled eggs, but that's personal taste. Most restaurants will go light on the salt because you can always add salt, but you can't take it away.I ordered a cup of coffee. I typically like it light and sweet, but since I don't do sugar or dairy, I asked for oatmilk and some type of alternative sugar. They carry stevia, which, while containing erythritol, still gave me the sweetness I was looking for.Overall, I definitely recommend Sonnyboy. The owner (or manager) was attentive, accommodating, present, and ensured that all of the guests in the restaurant were properly taken care of. It's an intimate restaurant with mirrored ceilings, seating just under 25 people, quiet, and out of the way, just enough where there were customers, but it wasn't overrun. It's definitely a place I'd like to eat again whenever I'm in the area.
