Tap Haus 33 Introduce
In a city with a bar on nearly every corner, standing out requires a truly unique concept. Tap Haus 33, located in the heart of Midtown, has done just that by combining the best elements of a sports bar, a beer hall, and a casual gastropub with an innovative self-pour beer system. This is a place that goes beyond simply serving drinks; it offers a fun, interactive experience for both seasoned beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers. From its extensive selection of craft beers to its delicious food menu and lively atmosphere, Tap Haus 33 has quickly become a favorite for New Yorkers looking for a great place to hang out after work, catch a game, or simply enjoy a night out with friends. It's a modern twist on the traditional bar, providing a casual yet trendy setting that feels both polished and inviting.
The core of Tap Haus 33's appeal is its "self-pour" concept. Instead of waiting at the bar, patrons use a pre-loaded card to activate taps on a massive beer wall, allowing them to pour exactly how much they want of any of the 40+ draft lines. This system eliminates the pressure of committing to a full pint of an unknown brew, encouraging exploration and discovery. You can try a few ounces of a variety of beers, ciders, and even hard seltzers, creating your own personalized tasting flight. This interactive element makes a visit to Tap Haus 33 a memorable event and a great conversation starter, perfect for a first date or a group outing. It's a genius business model that puts the power of choice directly into the hands of the customer.
While the beer is the main attraction, the food menu is equally compelling. The kitchen serves up classic pub fare with a focus on quality and flavor. As one reviewer highlighted, the wings are a definite standout, praised for their smoky flavor and crispy-but-not-dry texture. The menu also includes a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers that are perfect for sharing with a group. This combination of a unique drink experience and satisfying food makes Tap Haus 33 a comprehensive dining and entertainment destination. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A solid place to hang out after work. The wall of beer is a neat attraction, though admittedly it could use improvement. Not all the taps on the wall actually has anything connected. It was a bit sparse and mostly IPAs which I'm not personally a fan of.Other than that, a full explanation was provided on how the cards work, and the food was decent and plentiful. The casual nature of the establishment and the free flowing beer lend to an easy going night out with no pressure for anyone to drink more than they want to.Among the food, the wings were the highlight; it had a nice smoky flavor and were crisp when biting into it, but not dry. Fries, guac, and nachos were all decent but nothing particularly stood out, but the portions were generous.I hope the next time I return there would be a more varied selection on the beers.
June 26 · Barred LeifThis was a spontaneous choice for a work happy hour but it was actually so great! An amazing happy hour deal where you get unlimited drafts that are SELF POUR!!! How sick is that I had so much fun I tried all their like 7 cider flavors it was amazing. We also shared some food, nachos were fine and the wings were super good! I'm definitely saving this place and itll be a regular work happy hour spot in the future!! It was a bit packed and busy so we were cramped in standing room for a bit before a table opened up but that makes sense. Loved the variety of sports being played well, I feel like it’s so rare to have tennis playing but I was so happy to see that it was!!
March 14 · Patrick ZajacGreat location, huge range of beer and drink selections, and delicious food options for after work or catching a sporting event in a comfortable and lively setting. Service is attentive and overall nice place to hang out with friends
July 02 · Wayne ChengYou can pour your own way at Tap Haus 33, and it’s 99 times better than a lot of the pubs in the city. They have an insane collection of brews with a row of pour spigots ready when you are. Just load a closed-loop card, swipe it at each spout, and let the good times flow. What I love about this place is the atmosphere. The party tables give it a relaxed and familiar vibe, inviting conversation with your group - or with new friends you’ve just met. The space is somewhat narrow, but they’ve maximized it for relatively easy movement. The beer spouts line one full side of the joint, and it’s easy to scan what’s on tap. The hardest part? Making choices from so many rotating beers. The bar is designed for sports, with TVs on every wall - so it’s an ideal spot for taking in a game. Because it’s small, things can get a little loud, so come prepared for the boisterous crowds during big matches and events (I personally like that kind of energy during a game).Let’s talk food, because it kind of blew my mind. I went in not expecting much, but the burger was outrageous. And any menu that offers jalapeños on a tasty slab of medium beef is a hot ticket.Oh, and the fires? Fuggetaboutit!!! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned all around to perfection. Fries are a dealbreaker for me, and having a side of spicy mayo took it up 33 notches. If you’re in the K-Town region of the 212, I highly recommend hitting the Tap Haus for the beer and the food. You won’t regret it.
May 11 · Matthew GarrepyTapHaus has become one of our go-to spots to hang out with friends. The vibes are always great—fun atmosphere, good music, and super friendly staff. The bartenders, James and Danny, are always awesome—super friendly and know their stuff. The owner is also really welcoming and creates a great environment. The beer selection is solid, especially if you're into IPAs and ciders. Definitely a place worth checking out if you're looking for a chill beer spot with good energy and even better people.
