I absolutely love their seafood soup. Every time I'm in NY, I make a special stop to this El Tina Fish Market to enjoy their delicious food. This time, we had non-breaded shrimp with green plantains and seafood soup with a side of plantains and garlic. We tried their seafood salad as well, and it was good. Reminder to bring cash as they don't accept cards or any other forms of payment. Be patient when you come as street parking is limited and hard to find. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and enjoy seafood. - Susana L

Tina Fish Market Introduce

When it comes to finding fresh, authentic seafood in New York City, locals know that some of the best spots are the ones that serve as both a market and a restaurant. Tina Fish Market is a perfect example of this beloved dual-purpose establishment. Situated in the heart of the city's vibrant uptown area, this place has earned its reputation as an "uptown staple" that "never disappoints." It offers a unique and genuine experience where you can not only purchase fresh fish and seafood to cook at home but also enjoy expertly prepared dishes right on the spot. This fusion of a market and a diner creates a special atmosphere that is casual, authentic, and focused on the quality of the ingredients. The dedication to providing fresh, delicious food is evident in every dish, making it a reliable choice for anyone with a craving for the flavors of the sea.

The menu at Tina Fish Market is a testament to simple, flavorful seafood cooking. It's a place where the freshness of the ingredients is the true star. One reviewer’s passionate praise for the "absolutely love their seafood soup" highlights a signature dish that has garnered a loyal following. Other customer favorites include the "non-breaded shrimp with green plantains" and the "seafood salad." These dishes, along with their fish and chips, are prepared with a focus on delivering a quick bite of comfort food that is both satisfying and authentic. The ability to grab a full meal or a small plate makes it ideal for solo diners or a casual lunch or dinner. The food portions are known to be generous, offering great value for the price. The menu is straightforward and delicious, avoiding unnecessary frills and focusing on what matters most: fresh, well-prepared seafood.

Tina Fish Market is located at 500 W 207th St, New York, NY 10034, USA, in a bustling and lively neighborhood. This position makes it a convenient spot for local residents and a worthwhile destination for those from other parts of the city. The dual nature of the business—a seafood market and a restaurant—serves the community in two important ways. While street parking can be "limited and hard to find," as one reviewer mentioned, the experience of dining at Tina Fish Market makes the effort worthwhile. For those who can access it, free and paid street parking options are available. The straightforward approach to service, with both takeout and dine-in options, ensures that customers can get their seafood fix in the way that is most convenient for them.

The customer experience at Tina Fish Market is defined by its down-to-earth and authentic nature. The atmosphere is casual, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal without any pretense. The "never disappoints" feedback from a local patron speaks to the consistency and reliability of the food and service. This reliability is key for a local business and is a primary reason why it has become a "staple." While the dining options are limited to lunch and dinner, the focus on providing quality comfort food for these times is clear. It’s the kind of place you can pop into for a quick meal or for an ingredient for your own home cooking. A significant piece of information to note, as mentioned in a customer review, is that the market operates on a cash-only basis. While the provided information lists debit cards and SNAP/EBT, a customer review explicitly says they "don't accept cards or any other forms of payment," so it's best for customers to come prepared with cash.
