The philosophy at Tommy's is simple: provide a quality, no-fuss dining experience. The menu is intentionally limited, which allows the kitchen to perfect its core offerings. This focus is a major part of its appeal, as it eliminates the overwhelm of a massive menu and guarantees that what you're ordering is a specialty of the house. From its signature smash burgers to its crispy fries, every item is crafted to deliver on flavor and satisfaction. This streamlined approach, combined with its casual atmosphere and speedy service, makes Tommy's a highly efficient and reliable choice for a quick meal.
Beyond the food, Tommy's Bar & Burger embodies the spirit of a genuine, local hangout. It’s a place where you can sit down, relax, and refuel without any fuss. The overall vibe is comfortable and unpretentious, which is a rare find in a bustling tourist hub like DUMBO. Its authenticity and commitment to a simple, quality product are what have earned it a loyal following among those who appreciate good food without the extravagant price tag.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm giving this place 4.4 stars rounded down to 4 +1star to make up for all the idiots that are deliberately trying to downvote this place. Look at all the 1 star reviews -some of them are for pizza. This place doesn't sell pizza. All the other 1 star reviews are for the bathroom being broken or supposedly the staff being unfriendly. Well, bathrooms break sometimes (especially when drunk customers break it) and my experience with the staff was the opposite: they were friendly, cordial and the owner even came by and thanked customers for coming. The cheeseburger was a smash burger -the sauce was good, the cheese was gooey, I could taste the beef in the patty. And at $6.50, quite a bargain -especially in Dumbo where you can't find a cup of coffee for less than $5. I got a pint of Brooklyn Lager draft for $8. Again, good price. My companion got fries. The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Well seasoned. Portions were a bit skimpy for $4.50. But not outrageously priced. For Dumbo, it was still a good price. This is not the place you come for a full meal. It's a very limited menu. it's a place you come to sit down, take a break from walking around Brooklyn, get yourself a cold beer and have a cheeseburger to take the edge off your hunger. Forget all the stupid 1 star reviews. If the place really had an issue, you'd see a bunch of 2 and 3 star review. The fact that it's just a bunch of 1 star reviews shows that it's probably trolls, AI or competition trying to downvote the place. Go try it for yourself. You can risk 7 bucks on a cheeseburger.
September 23 · Johnny BNo restroom Difficulty for language Is maybe an own burger pub slangFood is good. But surf in paper bag sNext time eat here again after I was on Mc Donald restroom.
August 03 · Morris KBGlowing example of why you must *read* the reviews. Seriously, I cannot understand the logic behind leaving a 1 star review over a $5c rounding fee…on a burger that costs less than Shake Shack’s. But you’re probably smart enough to have sifted through the weird reviews already! Perfect, simple, delicious burger. Like really good. I got the single, my husband got the double. They were both nice and smashy, and I really liked their version of the ubiquitous orange sauce. Feeling satisfied and not miserably full.*I didn’t need to use the restroom, and we didn’t need water bc we were taking it home.Glad to have this in the neighborhood!
March 23 · Kristin Bean CollinsThe burgers were elite. I had the double. The service was mid but not bad, it’s a quick burger joint, I don’t need to be over conversated. I need my burgers. I didn’t give them 5 stars simply because they didn’t offer mustard, it’s a burger bar. Wtf is the mustard?!
June 17 · Stefan RiskoWe were at the Brooklyn Flea next door and decided to give this place a try. We were pleasantly surprised! Two cheeseburgers and a loaded fries will run you about $23.30 including a tip.The cheeseburgers were delicious, the onions were perfect and the meat was great. The "loaded fries" were a bit disappointing as they weren't really loaded. They just put a patty with cheese on top of the fries. Tasted great but not what we were expecting.
