BANGIA Introduce
In the bustling, neon-lit streets of New York's Koreatown, some places are more than just a restaurant; they are a vibrant cultural hub. BANGIA is a prime example, a Korean gastropub that captures the essence of a lively "pocha" spot—a Korean pub that serves drinks and a wide variety of comforting, flavorful dishes. Located on the lower level of a building on 32nd Street, it offers a distinct, underground vibe that makes it feel like a local secret, a cozy and trendy escape from the street-level hustle. This dim and lively atmosphere, with big groups of friends gathered around tables, creates a sense of communal celebration that is truly unique.
BANGIA is the perfect destination for those seeking an authentic Korean dining experience paired with a fun, social environment. It masterfully blends the traditions of Korean cuisine with the modern energy of a New York gastropub. The menu is a feast for the senses, featuring an extensive selection of dishes that are meant to be shared. From hearty stews and spicy stir-fries to flavorful grilled meats and a variety of creative pancakes, every dish is designed to complement the drinks and fuel lively conversation. It's a place where the food is as much a part of the experience as the people you're with, and the entire setting encourages a sense of fun and conviviality.
What makes BANGIA stand out is its commitment to both quality and a specific atmosphere. The food is noted for being flavorful and well-portioned, with rich, authentic tastes that leave a lasting impression. At the same time, the bar's offerings, from soju to signature cocktails, are crafted to enhance the dining experience. It's a spot that’s popular with college students and groups for a reason—it’s the ideal backdrop for a memorable night of delicious food, great drinks, and a dynamic crowd. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Korean cuisine or just looking to try something new, BANGIA offers a complete and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came here to get drinks with friends and it was a great vibe! The inside of the pocha spot is dim and lively, with lots of big groups drinking together and enjoying food. Here, the menu is by QR code and you order with staff. My friends got one of their soups, grilled pork belly, and fried chicken. Everything was a good portion, good quality, and flavorful. A great vibe to drink and eat with friends, and I would love to come back to try their soju bingsoo!
April 10 · Mia HuynhI had an incredibly enjoyable time dining and drinking at this Korean spot! The food was out of this world—each bite was pure bliss, with rich and authentic flavors that left me thoroughly satisfied. But that's not all! The manager is not only charming but also extremely good - looking, which added a delightful touch to the experience. And let's talk about the whisky! They serve the best Manhattan in all of Manhattan. The combination of scrumptious food, top - notch drinks, and a dashing manager makes this place an absolute gem. I can't recommend it highly enough!
June 17 · alex jinhaiThe food is always good love the spicy chicken feet and lychee drink. But the service was hideously bad I was standing up from the harsh bar chair because I had the knee injury but one of the server guy pushed me and told me “sit back down”. It happened so abruptly rude and my jaw dropped. For real, watch your attitude to the customer.
September 13 · Atlanta GaoBest Korean food I’ve had in NYC. I visited this location awhile back and was very happy with the service and food. The drinks were amazing as well! Highly recommend if you’re looking for great Korean food in NYC.
March 16 · Clayton Tibbettsthis is such a cute spot! we only sat at the bar so i didn’t get a good look at everything, but the atmosphere was really nice. (it does suck sitting so close to the door when it’s cold out, but that can’t be helped.) it’s slightly dark but i didn’t find it to be a problem. the kpop videos playing on the TVs are fun!the waitstaff was responsive and kind even though it got super busy on a saturday night. this is a great date spot or place to come with a large group. we only tried the fries and a few of the drinks but we’ll be back again for more!
